Reaping what you sow

With the party mostly done, now it's time for the aftermath. Up until I started writing it, I didn't really know what direction I would take it in. Sammy has the option of helping or protecting Anabel, but what would the outcome be for either option.

I decided that in the event that Anabel goes missing during the party, she will not at all be happy about it. In her mind she was taken to a party by people she trusted, gotten drunk and left to the mercy of a house full of perverts.

Wrapping up the party

Most of the work this week went into wrapping up the party events. The party has it's own unique event chains if it's the first time you are attending or if it's a repeatable.

Anabel's realisation

Doing more background work this week as well as adding in some events. Anabel has finally started to realise what this party is all about.

There are now 5 rooms you can wander around that have people all hanging about in them as well as bedrooms you can go alone in. With all the people in the background and the girls moving around the rooms, there is a lot of life in this small location.<...

More work on the backgrounds this week. I wasn't too happy with there being only 3 locations to explore around the party. Really felt like there should be more going on, especially with the fact that you will all be dancing there on a regular basis.

Giving and receiving

This week I have been working entirely on dance stuff. I wanted to have more scenes during the normal park busking so I decided to add in a little repeatable event where Sammy and/or the girls go into the crowd asking for money. It's party time!

Working fully on the party event now and getting some of the environments in. I am starting to think that keeping this as a one time event is a little bit of a waste and am considering making it a weekend repeatable event that covers some of the more pure sexual related aspects of serving booze that just isn't fitting to the pub.

So I kind of realised I have been doing almost everything except actually doing the last event for the dance girls, so felt that should change. Is Anabel a bit of a ****?

Writing Anabel content this week. It's quite strange giving character to someone who has been in the game for quite a long time. You are used to seeing her around and interacting with her in some events, but most of her character is you just filling in the blanks yourself.

While writing her conflict with Dani, I kind of tried to make it a sort of "both sides have a point" type thing. I don't think that came across at all, but I still like the direction it went in.

This week I have been preparing and planning the final stage of the dance party. How I want it to play out and the obvious repercussions it can have. In the beginning I think I started over planning it since it has been teased for so long that I felt like I had to make a major event out of it. Dani's doom

So last week I mentioned I didn't know how I wanted to make the bad end for Dani's story. Well, now I have committed to one.

So my original plan with Oskar was to have him die off anyway. While it's only a very rough idea, Oskar is in bed with some criminal types, Sammy would give them evidence he is screwing them over and he will mysteriously die.

I sort of abandoned that idea a bit because...

Dani's secret

So with work close to being done on Dani's story, I think it's about time I revealed more about it.

The basic idea is that Dani is struggling. Before the start of the game, she is already dirt poor and paying off her rent with Oskar through sex. As the game progresses she ends up in more and more situations that makes he doubt herself. She starts working and the pub and eventually selling herself there and the same with dancing with the sweet girls.

Drink all the booze

Writing events with Dani this week and started off with being able to have a nice wine evening. Someone suggested the idea to me and it made sense that they might not want to hang around drinking beer, so wine it is.

Issue was, people would expect to be able to drink wine from the inventory much like beer. Usually when you drink beer, it gets removed from your inventory and 10 mins pass. She chugs that beer quick!

A call for feedback

So, as the game has gotten bigger with more jobs, character quests and general content. I find the amount of questions on "how do i access this content/do this thing" has significantly increased.

Sometimes as a developer you are too familiar with your work, so it's not possible to see things from a new players perspective. So I have to put out a request for feedback.
