Yeah, its pretty standard practice with streaming shows. The production works on its own schedule and then the streaming service decides later how they are going to distribute and how many episodes are in each season. So the studios working on this show might still be working under the show code of Season 1, but Amazon is breaking it up into two.

Watched that scene about 3 times and its not a sucking motion. He does the tongue flick sure, but it looks more like a mix of eroticism with frustration. You can see that his jaw is tight and locked when it moves meaning that he's tense. Based on later episodes you know that he has an oedipal complex, but you also know that he hates that she has a kid that gets her attention.

My only problem with Billy Butcher is that I look at him and I see alternately Cupid and Julius Caesar. Karl Urban was on Xena in four different character capacities, though those two were the only repeats. (Why yes I'm old)

They already started shooting before the first season came out and Seth Rogen, who is producing this, said the pilot of the 2nd season is better than ever so yeah, you could refer to this as season 1, there'll definitely be more.
