Stranger Things 3x8 Reaction Early Access!

I think they gave Steve such a good storyline and made everyone love him even more as viewers because he was hilarious but for his actual character arc there was nothing actually for him apart from having Robin as a best friend.

I agree with 100% of what you said here. Also feel for Steve as i feel like his character arc progressed no where and I felt horrible for him after that reveal towards the end of the season.

Me too! I'm especially sad that we won't get to see anymore of Billy. It was Dacre's idea to actually add in the interaction between him and his dad last season. He said in an interview that 'no one is bad to be bad' he asked the duffers to give him this past and I think the duffers could of covered it more in this one too. I know they had the sequence with El. I also agree with Aaron. I wish we saw more of a tribute to him at the end but all we got was the small scene of max in her room for like 2 seconds.

I enjoyed this season more than 2, but a lot less than 1. A few key things held it back for me. I didn't like how Hopper was written all season. He went from being my favorite character in S1 to being over-the-top neurotic in S3. I get he was struggling with Eleven growing up, but it was like he suddenly became strictly a comedy character. It was an especially weird choice, considering how much of the emotional core of the ending relies on him. I should have been devastated by his (apparent) death, but I wasn't because I felt like the Hopper I cared about had already left the building. I also didn't like Erica. One of the best things about this show was how real the kids seemed. Erica sticks out as a grown-up's idea of a funny little girl. She was extremely grating to me. Finally, despite being the best part of this season, I can't help but feel like Billy was a whole lot of wasted potential. One of my favorite parts of Season 2 was the interaction between him and his dad and how it changed my view of Billy's character a bit. I was so looking forward to seeing that relationship develop and drive Billy in interesting directions. Instead it just acted as part of his tragic backstory so we'd be sad when he made his fairly standard (but still effective) heroic sacrifice. Overall, still fun to watch, but I was hoping for more.

I agree. He is a great actor. I just found that he has a podcast where he recites something called Beat poetry (whatever that is) written by him. I’m not really a poetry kind of person. However, I could listen to his voice all day long. 🔥

Fun Fact: In an interview with the Duffer Brothers on Entertainment Weekly it was revealed that Dustin and Suzie were going to sing the Ent song from Lord Of The Rings however they thought it wouldn’t go over well with Netflix due to the LOR tv series coming to Amazon.

Dacre is Australian. He was phenomenal this season. He is so talented and I'm glad they gave him a storyline that actually showcases how talented he is. By far in my opinion the best character this season.

Another clue that Hop is not dead is “Heroes” was playing during the letter scene. It was also playing in Season one when they found Will’s fake dead body.

The song was funny as fuck Eric is being a grumpy fart it was supposed to be silly and no Eric Billy and Hopper would have died cus the writers would have just wrote them dying sooner still so stop being bitter lol

I feel like I have such different opinions than anyone else here (at least, according to the comments). I loved Erica. I loved Max. I loved Robin coming out. I've rewatched the Never Ending Story bit 50000x times because I loved it so much. This season has been my favorite one and it's mostly thanks to those funny moments. Also, the super sad ones, too. Oh, well. I still enjoyed watching you guys watch it.

Sorry guys but I loved the Neverending Story segue. It was funny, adorable and showed how well the Duffers can vary tones and audience expectations. It is what makes Stranger Things so interesting to watch.

I've seen the Dustin-Suzie scene twice. So much cringe, I thought the scene would never end.

I have always loved how 80’s movies would have some random song placed in tense moments just for fun. Like Adventures in Babysitting. They are literally running from mobsters, and they decide to stop and sing a song at a bar. Lol just silly. So I of course loved the inserted song.

what i hope they do is just not mention this in season 4 until the last or second to last episode and make it a big surprise or even have it in the post credit scene of season 4, but yeah i agree.

I agree with Eric that I almost don’t want Hopper to miraculously come back bc it’ll take away from the monologue which was the biggest emotional moment of the season. Had to pause it while I was crying to regain composure!

I’m honestly heartbroken they didn’t like the song lol, for me it was the perfect levity and 80’s cheese we needed in that moment, and showed that our main characters, at the end of the day, are still kids and its their story.

This finale was so sad wtf😭. Dacre and Millie killed it, hands down best characters this season. I don’t think Hopper is dead, the duffer brothers aren’t that dumb to kill off such an important character
