I never really cared about the innocents. Except that time I killed the Mad King, defended the city, went North to destroy the force that was coming to kill anything living. Other than that, screw the innocent people!

The discussion was a lot more tame than I expected. I think the writers wanted that turn. I don't think the character was at a point it would make that decision. But the Dragon action was great. And the scene with the Hound and Arya was great. I wonder if they will leave the spot empty or do a new Rick Reacts.

I think Eric realizes those things about Dany's character, but my problem was with the way the episode was shoot. Her deciding to kill innocent ppl AFTER surrender is definitely outside of previous behavior. Of she was going to "burn them all" because she hated the ppl why stop and wait for the bells at all? It just doesn't make sense to me. She should have just fired on everyone from the beginning.

Why the bell? The bell moment, is the exact moment she needs to decide whether to listen to Tyrion's final advice. And advice is what's been keeping her from taking the extreme path all this time. (in Mereen, after landing on Westeros and the loot train episode) But her faith in her advisors has been wavering for 2 seasons, and finally because of the accumulated failed advice, losses and betrayals she chose not to take the advice and do it her own way.

I agree with Rick. There are some great moments throughout this season. Literally, everything is top notch: The acting, music etc... Unfortunately though, the writers (D&D) stopped caring. They just wanted to finish it as fast as possible.

Thing is, when everyone tells you that you are the best thing since sliced bread repeatedly, its gunna get to your head. Since she got her dragons, she really hasnt lost anything... a few minor setbacks sure but nothing she couldnt handle. In the space of a few weeks she lost her closest friend, her most trusted advisor, two children and the majority of her army. Shes faced with being right back where she started before she had her dragons and shes scared. They had a chance to try to save face with her character after the city was burned down; she couldve felt remorse.. but they went with denial and thats whats pissing a lot of people off, i think. Personally, i think it wouldve been more believable if she just burned the Red Keep and there were a few hundred civilians inside.. wouldve had the same effect and there would be less people claiming character assasination.

the thing with dany, Eric is that she is a single-minded, self righteous person. I believe she lost empathy towards the people in Kingslanding because she saw them as submitting to ceresi, unlike the people in slaver's bay who have risen against their slavers when she came.

In the battle against Stannis they used freshly made wildfire by the alchemists... The mad king's cache was only found later by Qyburn and partially used in bombing the Sept.

She never did it tho and the instances she showed brutality were all towards ones that deserved it. Remember when she locked up her dragons for killing one kid? Where were you?

Eric needs to do another re-watch of the show, because Dany was already showing these tendencies when things weren't going her way all the way back in Season 2 when she said she'd burn down all the cities that didn't fall on their knees to do whatever she wanted, with the first being Qarth. She's been threatening to burn cities to the ground for six seasons. Where was Eric?
