Long over due update 11/25/24

These past few weeks I've been working away at getting the overhaul to the game into a working state and I have come with good news: it should be done, with some exceptions. The nights currently do not award achievements and are not unlocked by completing the previous night in a campaign and holiday events have still not been tested.

Halloween Update 2024 - Endless Build

This Month I've continued working on getting the game to a playable state, and I am almost there. The attached build is still a work in progress for the new changes to how nights are loaded and stored which has required overhauls to the most major piece of code in the game. This week I went back to working on the night overhaul that I had been implementing before i decided to work on making improvements to the game map.

Friday Update 09/20/24

This week I trimmed old and unused textures, sound effects, and other assets from the game's files in order to get the file under 200 MB so I can upload it to Patreon. When the game does get impossible to get under that size (currently it's at 192/200) I'll use MEGA or SmutCube.com, but I find uploading it here is the best and most convenient place for patrons. Weekend Update 09/15/24

Real quick, I've run into the issue that FuckNAF is now too big to upload to Patreon, even compressed. The file limit is 200 MB, so I'm looking for alternatives and will let everyone know when the latest beta build is available for download.

Weekend Update 09/08/24

This week I continued working on the map, running into some issues/learning opportunities with the new shelving units behind Mangle. I also remade the shoplifting warning sign and made a sign for Mangle's shelves and finished all the modules boxes so that they all have unique text and use the new style I switched to which uses Unity to generate. With the new text system I also changed the font at the top, and started adding the text to the boxes. Only Mangle's is done so the other bots have her text as a place holder. I want to try to add an unhinged feature to each of them as a joke and cover them up like the one on Mangle's box.

Weekend Update 09/02/24

This week's build will have issues with the light map once again, but I ran out of time fixing it. I know the issue, but it'll be a tedious fix. I figured it was more important to get a build, any build out.

Weekend Update 08/25/24

Before i get started, there will be a beta build available tomorrow with all the AI modules done, I'll remove this header once the build is available.

Weekend Update 08/11/24

This week I finished work on updating the showroom for the most part. The upgrades include replacing the simple "square" lights with more realistic ones including large cubic lights in the showroom and cheaper fluorescent lights in the employee lounge. The texture for the fluid bottle has also been updated to have pictograms instead of only text, for better readability and sex appeal.

Weekend Update 08/04/24

This week I finally fixed the issue with the lightmaps and began work improving the showroom a little bit.

The issue with the lightmap was that removing the lights as I had been doing when baking the lights off map as well as another setting issue were both causing the UV's for the light map texture to change each bake. This week I continued struggling to learn how exactly light maps work and also added the ability to toggle lights in the toybox.

In the spirit of making new debugging tools for myself and adding them to the game I've made it possible to click light switches in the toybox (or desk setup technically). Weekend Update 07/14/24

This week I continued work on overhauling the night loading system to be more robust and modular.

Unfortunately this update is still not done and is proving to be a much more intense problem than I anticipated. The main issue is that the old script that existed in the game world was made that way because it was easy to "grab" other things that existed in the level so that getting a light to turn off was as simple as clicking and dragging it into the script.

This week I took a break from visual elements of Goldie and started work on one of the potential rewards for completing the campaign as well as hopefully make the loading of a new night more robust from bugs.

The way night data was previously stored was in a single master object which was loaded every night. This is inefficient and was prone to bugs due to design flaws which caused the data to sometimes not be fully reset after completing a night.

This week I finished rigging Golden Fredrika's body to conduct experiments on what needs to be done as well as fixing a couple bugs that were reported and added additional in game clarification to the "Fucking Blind" achievement.

Weekend Update 06/16/24

This week I worked on finally getting Golden Fredrika's body textured and finalized as well as expanded on the system for letting players know when an achievement had unlocked an item in Mangle's shop.

Golden Fredrika's mesh is probably in its final state, I need to rig it all together and retexture the head, but she should soon be able to be animated, probably next week. Once that's done I'll start implementing her night into the game.

This week I worked on making achievements able to be a requirement to purchase furniture items as well as added a proper achievement for completing Murder's night. The reward for completing her night that was briefly introduced last week is a furniture item that allows you to use the quick swap feature that was previously only available when playing Murder's night.

This week I finished doing the necessary work to make the cavity sheaths toggleable as well as added a new item as a reward for completing Murder's night (the 3 AM event). This week I worked on texturing Golden Fredrika's body as well as did some quality of life improvements and general polish.

Golden Fredrika's body is still a work in progress, I'm not the best artist so my approach is to iterate over and over again until I get something I like. Weekend Update 05/19/24

This week I finished the mesh for Golden Fredrika's torso. The mesh is mostly just a retopology of the body used by the other bots with the exception of the nipples and the vagina/anus area. I reduced the detail on the nipples and the pits while increasing the detail in the crotch. Overall the mesh is half the vertices of the original. First I'm working on the basics of her AI, this was started before but the new method I had used for the dialogue system worked really well so I started over with that approach.
