About Eric saying that he thought the story would go a bit further: This episode wasn't supposed to be the season finale initially, the season was shortened because of the writers' strike. After the strike, they chose not to go back in production and to wait for the next season. With that in mind, this episode stands pretty well as a season finale imo.

It's been sooo long since I've seen this that I cracked open my old DVD to watch this finale & my brain confused it with the S2 finale!! 😂 Such a shame as that one has the dramatic moments. It was a fun episode but I missed a real season finale feeling. Going on we will get that in 2,3,4 & 5 & I literally can't wait for 3 & 4 especially & that bad ass Xmas one with lethal Walker & some real shocks to come!! 😍

It's interesting that Eric (briefly) wondered if the operative who was placing the bugs was someone we knew. I recently read that they originally intended Awesome to be a Fulcrum agent which would be revealed in the season 1 finale. But because the fans loved him so much, they changed course. Which is pretty standard for this show. Chuck as a show was one of the most fanbase-engaged shows ever.
