Game of Thrones 8x2 Poll!

Which three characters do you think are most likely not going to survive next episode?

Comments

It's gotta be Theon. He's going to die protecting Winterfell. I imagine he will sacrifice himself to save Sansa specifically

Andrew Sherry

The return of Stannis is more likely then Sir Brienne of Tarf surviving

I don't want Grey Worm to die but the kiss sealed the deal I'm afraid. Also Lady Mormont is a badass when it comes to politics, but I don't see her surviving a physical battle for long.

Cultured Degenerate

I hate to say it but my favorite character Arya is going to die trying to kill the Night King/Dragon with that spear. Jorah his sad tale will end with his death. Theon will die defending Bran from the Night King (This might be where Arya gets a shot at him)

Grey Worm got the kiss of death, Beric might sacrifice himself to save another (Hound instead of Lady Stoneheart?) and Brienne has completed her character journey. It would be tragic but oh so fitting to see her go.

Do you think when Bran was telling Tyrion his story he started with the fact that Jamie pushed him from the window?

I feel like most of the people shown during Pod's song are going to.

So I've thought about it a little bit and here are the ones that die and the storylines goes as follows: The crypts are not safe. Missandei will bite the dust leaving behind a distraught Grey Worm. Samwell will die defending Gilly and baby Sam. Brienne gets it and dies in the arms of Jaime in a sort of twisted reversal of Jaime's own words of dying in the arms of the woman he loves. Edd is a cointoss for me, but I'm leaning towards him surviving. Theon gets some White walker action and dies from that. And lastly Jon will also die, possibly by something Dany does or neglect to do. Beric however will see this and pray to the Lord of Light to bring him back using his own life as fuel. They could throw in a Davos or Tormund death but probably not both so I'll say one of them dies and the other one survives. I'm scared just waiting for it. But I also can not wait.

Teddy S

I had a lot more then 3 on that list. But I think GreyWorm is definitely going to die, Along with Jamie. But a theory I have in my mind, that I doubt will happen, is that we won’t see Jamie dies, but later on it will be discovered that Arya has been impersonating Jamie to get close to Cersei.

1) Theon giving his life to protect Bran and Winterfell feels like the right way for his story to conclude. 2) Greyworm would be pretty heartbreaking after his scenes with Missandei last episode. 3) Baeric because I feel like the Lord of Light will lose one of his champions in this fight, and I don’t think it will be Jon.

Dylan Carpenter

There are a few characters I think will die, but not in the battle. They have unfinished business... like the Hound has to face his brother, Jaime and Tyrion have to face Cersei..and Brienne can't die before Jaime because I predict he will die in her arms. He always said he wanted to die in the arms of the woman he loves so I think that would be a sad yet fitting end to his story.

where is the full reaction?

Danocheirus

I feel like a lot of characters will die protecting other people in the next episode. Theon protecting Bran, Brienne protecting Jaime, and Jorah protecting Daenerys or Lyanna. They also kept talking about the safety of the crypts, so something bad is definitely going to happen down there.

Top 3 most likely to die for me are Theon, Greyworm & Beric, but I'm also not hopeful for Edd, Jorah, Tormund or Jaime.

Victoria E (vickster5001)

I think Bran most likely will die, think about it, they didn't surprised us since a long time , the last surprised I remember about dead character was Hodor so I believe they want to surprised us because we already knows that most of the main characters will die but not Bran , even Bran himself mentioned that he is important etc... so I believe at least if he didn't die he will be close to ...

Theon and Jorah as I feel there arc has been completed and greyworm for the emotional death build up we had the last few episodes I expect more to die then 3 of them thou. Wouldn't surprise me if they killed ayra, tyrion and the hound just for the fact I don't trust game of thrones with my favourite characters.

Timmytoby

there's so many dead bodies in the south Night King doesn't even need to take his army.

Lailonniel-EleneiRose

yep i think Davos is a goner and will die defending the little girl.

Lailonniel-EleneiRose

if he does Beric with the revive but Jon knows she hesitated to save him further creating a wedge between them

Lailonniel-EleneiRose

oh my godddd they're totally gonna kill ghost. Jon has to ride the goddamn dragon now, so of course Ghost is on borrowed time, and likely gonna die next episode.

Lailonniel-EleneiRose

I think Missandei is a goner, more than Grey Worm.

after last episode i was pretty sure of Theon, Jaime, Greyworm and Jorah dying, however as this show is a bastard i think it's going subvert expectations and kill someone someone completely different. And maybe the expected ones as well for good measure

Stefanniko

Everyone that dies next episode. Gets raised as wights to join the ever growing army of the dead. People fighting side by side one moment will be trying to kill each other the next. Also imagine Cleganebowl as a zombie fight.

Jo

lol, I didn't even realize we were only supposed to pick 3, so I voted for half of them.

Woodsie89

either jamie and brienne has to die after the hole knighting thing

I may be in the minority, but that doesn't stop me from believing Dany dies next episode, leaving Jon as the owner of the dragons

normalmighty

I believe several characters will die based on how they were treated in Ep2. Brienne got a resolution through her knighting. She's dead. Theon is set up to get a resolution by redeeming himself protecting Winterfell. He's dead. Sam's wishes for Jorah to return to meet him again foreshadows Jorah's death. Grey Worm's promises to Missandei looked like it foreshadowed his death, but I believe his death will come at the hands of the Golden Company later in the season. It's possible that Missandei dies instead, but I don't believe she will. Varys on the other hand has outlived his usefulness. Finally, Beric will die because there's not much left to do with his character.

Ekorren

Grayworm said the equivalent of a cop saying he is two weeks from retirement, plus he is on the front lines, there’s no way he survives

Beric, Theon and Greyworm. The former after buying time for survivors to escape, and go out in a blaze of glory. Theon by fully paying back all he did against the Starks by laying his life down for Bran. Greyworm just to twist that knife in.

ObligedUniform

I have a 4th pick. Cersei Lannister. What if the Night King isn't going for Bran. What if his army is merely a distraction. While they fight his army, he flies his dragon south and takes the Red Keep. Politics prevented Danny from doing that. Night King doesn't care about politics. He kills Cersei and raises everyone in King's Landing into wrights. Then he marches his new recruits north to join the rest of his army. What if the Golden Company that marches north is an undead Company. My number one pick is still Gendry. Read my other post if you want to know why.

k9commander

My choices were 3) Beric. He's fodder. That is why he was brought back to life. To save someone more important. 2) Theon. His redemption arc has come to its glorious end. 1) Gendry. After this episode, he's no longer needed. His Baratheon seed has made its way into a Stark lady. Arya will soon be with child. The two houses have become one.

k9commander

Theon, Greyworm, and Beric.

The better question is who is going to survive. because I think most of the characters are going to die and only main people will survive that being Jon and Dany. I am not confident about anyone else surviving so just gonna name these two. This is gonna be the Best and Saddest episode ever.

I voted for all of them because I don't play by your rules

Nathan Mortenson

I voted 3 for my friend, I don’t watch the show myself though so I don’t know what any of this means..

CJ

Theon has a very complete arc and it only feels right that he would go out protecting the boy that he betrayed

Bran and Theon are dead, they’re losing hard this one

Jocta96

Good catch.

RyanKlip

I’ve thought that, too. He’s set up as such end game for the goals of both sides. Having him “die” would be a massive shock to everyone, but then one of the dragons’ eyes turns white... It would be amazing if he could warg the dead dragon, but I’ll be really surprised if he never wargs any of the three.

Launa Sorensen

Beric without his priest is boring and I don’t think we will get why the lord of light kept bringing him back .....

Sahar

I'm surprised we have so few for Arya. I could see her going for a sacrifice kill of the Night King. There's definitely a bunch of foreshadowing that might happen.

Alexander A

I'm not sure we'll be losing them next episode but within the next 2 we should be losing some.

Kevin Bartelen

Hard to pick just 3! Theon, Beric and Greyworm definitely won’t survive this battle.

Sarah Case

My three are Theon, Beric, and Greyworm but, they did such a good job leaving everyone at a good place at the end of this episode where their death would make sense story-wise I'm thinking we'll lose about half this list in the next battle.

Jeanette C

Sadly, I think it's going to be much more than three of these. This entire episode had a feeling of pending doom.

Tone

I think there's a good chance bran will die, but he will warg into one of Daenary's dragon because the old three eyed raven said to bran that you will never walk again, but you will fly".

This should be a two-parter. Who will die, and who will be turned.

DF

They are putting everyone who can’t fight in the “safest place”... the crypts.... where all the Stark dead are ... buried.. not burned. White walkers raise the dead. Just saying.

Krie

I think tyrion might die. The cripts are definitely not safe and they keep talking how he will help after the fight. Plus he's the only one who thinks that they might win.

Top Screen

I feel that with the way Game of Thrones works it would be impossible to say who is most likely to die but Theon and Brienne I feel have both reached the end of their own stories and in Theons case gained the redemption they desired. However, Greyworm also had some major death flags, it doesn't usually end well for a character when they begin planning for the future.

The best end to Theon’s story would be defending Bran (though Bran dying or being taken would be the perfect “all is lost” closer for next ep. Doubt it will happen, though.) Podrick could easily go. He’s currently his best self and doesn’t seem to fit into any current prophecies or Chekhov’s gun situations. Greyworm and Missandei will be separated one way or the other and I think they’ll have to face each other with one changed. We’ve yet to have a super emotional “facing a dead loved one” scene and I think it may be more powerful if Missandei is dead because of her statement of being peaceful and Greyworm promising to defend her. I want the Hound to do something amazing with fire, Lyanna to at least survive if not come in with a major save, and Sam to successfully defend the crypts as proof that he is a hero. Arya is the only one I’m confident will survive just because in an earlier season the Red Woman said they would see each other again. The only way I could see that happening in battle is if she comes in with reinforcements from her God. It seems like such a setup that we have a fire god throughout this whole show who has brought back two people in this battle (one multiple times) and nothing big has happened yet.

Launa Sorensen

Eric subconsciously not putting Ghost on cos he hates Direwolves dying.

Sheriff Uchiha

Greyworm & Theon are the only ones I can say for certain will die. Jon, The Starks, Dany, and Tyrion are the only ones I'd mark as safe. Everyone else is a tossup.

DevilJynx

I think Ghost is dead too unfortunately but he's no on the list. This episode had so many death flags for lots of people but I think Theon, Brienne and Grey Worm's were the biggest and Theon's and Brienne's arcs are complete so I think they're dead. I'm also worried that Arya is going to die buying people time to get out of Winterfell when it falls

Adam Lenz

Theon, Grey Worm and Brienne are the three whose deaths seem the most telegraphed in episode 2. Whether they flip expectations remains to be seen but they seem the most likely.

Michael Harrop

Davos talked way too many times about surviving battles for him to not die in this battle.

HybridThizzle

I wouldnt be surprised at all at this point if now Jon dies because Danny has chance to save him and doesnt because she wants throne its kind of seeded when she talks about loving him and thats why she following him but then when it became about who gets throne she seemed super quick to turn on him. So I think that will for sure screw up the plan maybe Jon dies from it hopefully not tho

MustacheKash

l believe heavily in the 50/50 rule here. We saw so many pairings because half arent coming back. Grey Worm is dead, one of the Mormonts, Beric, 3 of the 6 by the fireplace, Theon, all dead.

Erich Bomke

Takes a bit longer to edit full reactions so will be up later today

I’m thinking Beric will fall and the Hound will get his flaming sword

Seth O'Connor

I think most of these people are dying just not next episode, but the next two episodes

Juniper

Greyworm mentioned he's one fight away from retirement. He's dying. Podrick is an easy sacrifice connected to most people. And Beric will die in service of his lord.

Doby Greg

Grey Worm had FAR too much screen time this episode and it was all dedicated to his plans for the future. He's Worm Food come the next episode.

Ashley Jamieson

I think Theon is going to live through the whole story. "What is dead may never die." Theon died a long time ago, when Ramsey made Reek out of him. Because a heroic death is what he would deserve, he won't get and has to live with all the misery, that happened to him (and the misery still to come).

Red Claw

I think we all know greyworm is going to die, it's just a matter of time.

Theon feels like the most likely to go as it would be a good death for him. He has made up for everything he has done except for making right by Winterfell. So him during to protect Winterfell would be the best death he could have.

Ziegenbagel

Unrelated but I just joined Patreon because I want to see your guys' full reaction to this last season of GoT. All I'm seeing though is this poll. Where is the actual reaction to newest episode? Its on youtube but I can't find it anywhere here. Sorry, Patreon is entirely new to me. I am using the $10 dollar plan which claims that i should have access to full length reactions.

Brett Bell

I voted Jorah, Gendry and Pod. I just picked random people tbh... Maybe no one will die! :) i'm afraid.

Shae (maorismurf)

Everyone in the crypts. I think something very dark is going to happen down there. Oh and Theon, Brienne & Missandei as actual 3.

ElBilbo

I’m thinking most people in the crypt might get it

Brienne because she just got knighted. Greyworm because he is planning for the future. Theon because he's protecting Bran. Also, this is definitely one of my favorite episodes of the series, very reminiscent of the first seasons

Roberto Cerrillo

I really don't want Greyworm to die, but I feel like they have him on the chopping block now. Having a good future planned right before you go into a large battle is almost a 100% guarantee that you will die.

I think Brienne will go out like Boromir

I think the saddest death that could happen would be Ghost.

lewis is your patron

Bran dying means they basically already lost though. He's the key to defeating the night king so I don't understand how he's served his purpose yet??

Thilde

I think Jon might die and then Dany will find out she is pregnant later this season.

Thunderstorm586

Bitt of a dusy i know but guesss what i just came up with it while i sat on the throne XD.

jozeph985

i think Bran will die in the next episode because, he has served his purpese to the plot. and i think his death would be the most dramaticly satesfining to move the plot along, seing that he is the Three eyed raven now. Theon could go either way to be honest, but what i turly think is going to happen is that bran dies by one means or another. then theon will blame him self for it and decide to offer him self to a suceide missson to kill the night king. This would have happend after the first wave or two of whites had been repeld from the attcack. Realizing that killing the three eyed raven was the Night's king main objective with the assault.

jozeph985

The great thing about this episode is it makes you think every character will die. So thats what i think. Everyone is going to die.

Ryan O'Malley

It seems poetic to me to have Theon die protecting a Stark and his REAL home.

SirMonkeySuit

Jon and Dany will both live, if one of them dies, then this whole Jon being the rightful heir thing will feel kind of pointless, so they will both live, at least through this next battle. Arya, Sansa, Bran, I think 1 of the Stark kids will die, and Arya seems the most likely. If Bran dies, then the Night King has essentially achieved his goal, so I don't think they can kill him off, at least not yet. And I think Sansa will come out of this as the Leader of the North, maybe even a contender for the Iron Throne. Arya, I don't see her having much story left to tell. She will do something important during the battle, but will then ultimately be struck down. Theon will die. His story will have come full circle with him giving his life to protect Bran. Edd will die, as the last commander of the Nights watch, bringing an official end to the Nights Watch. Jorah and Lyanna Mormont. Jorah just recieved a new Valerian steel sword, so I dont' think he will die. I think Lyanna will go out in a blaze of glory, and Jorah will get reinstated as the Lord of Bear Island, taking his new family sword with him. Greyworm will die. He is a small enough character, but popular enough, that his death will have both an impact on the audience, wile not really having much impact on the story. Sam will live to write down the histories of the wars of the 5 kings, and the battle against the white walkers. Tormund will live. He is the last living wildling as far as we know. And this will be just one more impossible feat he will add to his list of stories to tell. Tyrion will live. I think he will redeem himself for his mistakes the last several episodes, and go on to serve as an adviser to whoever rules in the end. Jamie will die, and be turned into a wight, going south with the army of the dead, and killing Cercie, fulfilling the prophecy. Brienne will live, she is Jamie's successor. Davos will die, he lost Shireen, Stannis, his son, so he has nothing left to live for. (maybe killing Mellisandre) Gendry will live as the last Baratheon, and my even be a contender for the Throne. (I predict a kind of Kings moot to take place) Podrick will live, just because. The Hound will live, he has to fight The Mountain. Cleganebowl HYPE! Baric will die. He has long outlived his book counterpart. He will die saving the Hound.

Woodsie89

I really doubt many will survive even if they win. I will say i dont think the nights king is in winterfell. I think he's gone on a little recruiting trip down south

Adam Jones

In this episode they have built up how much Theon and Jamie have changed and what Greyworm has to live for that I'm pretty sure those 3 are going to die in my opinion.

Supermonaman

Something is definitely going to happen in the Crypts

Irphern

There were some serious death flags going up for Grey Worm and I feel with Theon's arc it would be a fitting conclusion for him to die protecting Bran.

Paul Deasy

Theon‘ going to have to put the phrase”What is dead may never die” to the test because I see his honorable death arriving in the form of white walkers

Gavin Hardiman

Many people are going to die, but the way they zoomed in on Podrick when he was sparring, and that he didnt have that many lined along with him singing, it's almost certain he's dead.

Joel

Grey worm is a differently gonna die I can see the Hound dieing trying to protect arya and i think ser Davos talked about surviving battles a lot last two eps so I don't think he'll make it either.

Dip602

My vote would actually be for Missandei - I think they are pulling a bait and switch

Barb4Lyfe

I'm surprised you guys didn't put Missandei on here. All throughout the episode people were talking about how safe the crypts were. But the dead are already in the crypts. The episode made it seem like Greyworm is going to die, but what if its actually Missandei.

I picked a lot, but I would say Theon, Grey worm, and Berick are almost for sure going to die. Podricks song is going to hurt way worse after next episode.

Josh Bornman

i chose Jorah just because how much he means to us and dany, second place is Theon and third is beric. Im not ready for next episode....

Aðalgeir Aðalgeirsson

Everyone thinks Arya won’t live but she has to because Gendry and her just created the future heir to Winterfell 👍🏼
