I think that Michonne being emotionally damaged and skeptical of new people is definitively justifiable, but not being able to trust anyone and not helping trusted communities isn't. You can't rebuild civilization if your doors are completely closed to the outside world.

After the that last episode, her entire avoidance with other communities (even if they seem trustworthy) is entirely justified imo. It's about time people started actually wising up to the danger these crazy mofos actually pose to the new society. On another note, what do you guys think about Negan? Has he served his sentence? It's been 7 years or so? I'd have him locked up for life still but i'd like to hear you guys' opinions on that.

Michonne couldnt even trust her 'friend' of over 15 years... She has every right not to trust new people.

Yes, it's justified to some extent. At first I thought she was going a bit overboard. If I understood correctly, Michonne hadn't seen her friend in over 15 years, so they were basically strangers at that point. So it made sense to cut off contact with strangers, but not with the friends she's fought side by side with for the last few years. However, it's not like Michonne can control who THOSE people bring into their communities. She would be relying on her friends to vouch for total strangers, which would be hard to do after making such a bad call in this episode. So I can definitely see where she's coming from.

Hell I haven't trusted new people since the prison, when Rick massacred the prisoners because he couldn't trust them. I agreed with him then and I never lost it. Because strangers in the Walking dead always turn out to be well rounded decent human beings *cough Terminus cough*

This situation is soo tapped that I get why she would turn people away. Although I feel they could have learned from this experience by having a stricter procedure for letting people in like not letting them eat with them with the rest of Alexandria, maybe put them under 24 hour surveillance for a period of time or put them under tests to see whether they can be trusted etc

It is justified, it's easy to criticise her for not trusting people when we as viewers know they are trustworthy but to see it from her perspective having both lost so much and with so much to lose it's understandable

In the past yes. Letting people in almost lead to you,your child and your unborn child dying. But having stricter vetting processes in the future could help. Have more people on guard when their are new people around.

Yes it showed that everyone changed after the apocalypse and you can't be sure who to trust especially after so long spent surviving. Accepting new people is an unnecessary risk that can potentially destroy or severely wound your community for little reward when you are already that stable.

I agree that it was right at the time but you would expect that her stance would have softened over the six years, especially with other members of Alexandria to discuss things with. She is strong willed and having seen so many die through interacting with other groups / strangers I can see why she did it especially so soon after Rick. Loved the episode - it's been a refreshing return to form this season, sad to see it end soon.

As much as I know Michonne would benefit by opening up, the timing is horrible.

I think she is justified but it isn't how i would've handled the situation. I still would've let new people in but be more careful with them.

I dont think i 100% agree with it but i totally get it, after promising never to bury another child after carl and then almost loosing judith to trusting new people she never wants that to happen again. And the reason to close on people she knows is because the person that betrayed her was her high school friend. And now that i think of it i agree with her. Best episode in a long time to be honest!
