Hey Blind Wave, one thing that you guys need to do after you're finished watching the series is go back and watch the silence in the library episodes again. It will hit you much harder once you know who River is a lot more.

I remember when I finished this season I was so sure that this two parter was popular among fandom and considered one of the best finales ever. When I went on discussion boards I realized the Big Bang was a polarizing episode. So many people didn’t like it. I was so shocked. Many people didn’t appreciate the ontological paradoxes, but they didn’t bother me. It all made sense within the narrative. It’s just like the famous saying, “What came first the chicken or the egg”. I’ve always loved series 5. Series 6 is when Moffat went off the rails. The 11/Amy/Rory/River chemistry is what saved that season tbh.

After that he goes way wilder and wilder but this season was a pretty great arc and I like how we set up everything goes back to basically the first episode with tomorrow finally happening.

His series have the best arcs because they are arcs, not just hints to throughout for the last episodes. Also they were more original, 3/4 of the Davies arcs involved Daleks as villains. Moffat's arcs were about events rather than specific villains, and he created new ones.

I remember being excited when he took over the show because his stories in the 9th and 10th doctors' seasons were my favorites (Empty Child/Doctor Dances, Girl in the Fireplace, Blink, Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead).
