And Sam's a Night's Watch deserter so technically he should be executed by Jon right? Obviously that would never happen but that's the law. And once you take the black you can no longer hold any land or titles so I guess the only way Sam could inherit Hornhill is if the Night's Watch gets disbanded and the men are released from their vows... Is that a thing???

I don't get it. Why does Calvin think that Samwell Tarly is illegitimate? He's a true born son, not a bastard.

I just now noticed the replica of Colleen Wing's Katana resting behind Rick's head. <3

You are correct. Line of succession goes to first born male heir. Aunts and uncles don’t take precedence in any situation where a male heir lives.

Wait. If Jon is the legitimate child of Rhaegar and Lyanna, Dany cannot be above him in the line of succession can she? With Rhaegar being the crown prince, his children should be above any of his siblings. Or does Westeros have different succession laws?

Or did you mean ineligible, due to his Nightwatch Oath? You realise once the Dead are defeated, their will be no need for a Nights Watch, especially since all the Wildlings are South of the Wall now anyway. So if they live, there will be no Nights watch any more
