i always found it interesting that martin freeman (john) and amanda abbington (mary) were married in real life , then divorced during the filming of series 4. it made some of the scenes more real to me :( and yes i am a total sap lol

2018-08-13 12:49:01 +0000 UTCOk, first: Sherlock had shorter hair because Benedict was filming Dr. Strange too. Second: You cut the episode beforehand. After the credits there is a little clip there with Mary. I loved the next episode (4x02). Actually that was the one nominated to the Emmys.

2018-08-12 17:02:38 +0000 UTCThis episode was definitely one of the weaker ones (disregarding the ending). It really felt like they wanted to have mary’s death but just didn’t know quite how to build the episode around it satisfactorily. This season more than any of the others I believe would’ve benefited from 4 episodes not 3, which you can see when you have watched the other two. I think an episode before this one with a stronger mystery and just setting up threads for this episode and the finale would’ve been a great help
