How little filter Shane has is always great. It makes the post discussions quite interesting. And without Rick is fine with where Eric and Aaron would probably try to keep him in check.

No way Doby, I liked the timeline change. It originally was a Christmas episode, so that fits perfectly. Also this was clever writing “alternatively 19th century “. I’m a teacher , I watched this one with my students. They loved it. Works on so many levels. But each is own😎✌️

But it does confirm Cumberbatch as perfect casting. Watson is different I always imagine sone closer to Newt's friend in the fantastic beasts movies.

I enjoyed the beginning of the episode. I did not like the ladies enpowement message that took over the plot way to much. I also think it would have been better to keep it simply in the past no tie to the show proper timeline. And I would have preferred if they were playing straight with the period rather than low key shaming it. Basically make it a true sherlock in his proper period rather than the show riffing on it.

Had to download a different version to sync it up with the full reaction, you can find one online that also fits their version. :)

Mary wasn’t belittling Mycroft. She’s just better. It only seems like belittling because women in fiction usually aren’t.

Why does it sound like Eric is being stabbed in the background?

I think it may have been quite a while since Rick read the books, cause one of my favourite things about this episode is all the little references they make to them, and I'm not sure he picked up on a lot of them. Not a criticism, just think it would have made it more enjoyable for him.

Damn the full length in unwatchable. Hopefully they fix it for next season.

I originally hated this episode but I've grown to like it more and more with repeated viewing.

Is anyone else having problems synching this episode with the Netflix stream? The reaction vid would start to lag behind netflix after a few seconds.

When I first watched this episode I thought the ending was really well done, where it cut to Sherlock looking out the window in both modern and historic timelines. To me, I thought it blurred the lines to watch timeline was reality and which was him in his mind palace (if we didn't already watch 3 seasons of Sherlock, but still makes you wonder at least for me).
