they probably just think its part of his quirk. no point in mentioning stuff like that in a super powered society

I think the lightning is just for the people watching the show to show that Deku is using his power. Nobody in the show ever mentions or notices his lightning so I assume only we can see it.

Calvin is lucky werent me with a boat ore. He wouldnt be sitting because he gives you two shots and for years OF ZipStrips. Plus Ultra needs to be so hard Calvin jumps when you walk behind him at any time. But love the Plus Ultra by Eric at the end. Id just deliver a home run not a foul ball on Calvins arse

What Eric said about Midoriya hopping around like a bunny is exactly why I feel that his costume's hood really suits him. The bunny look actually complements his powers as well as his sheepish personality. Plus, it's not like he can't look badass with it on too. I personally thought he looked pretty cool back in season one when he finally confronted Bakugo and when he had half the mask blown off by Bakugo's big explosion. He even has that new mask to make it look even cooler. Speaking of which, I'm still waiting on seeing what he actually looks like with both the mask and the hood on.
I'd say that my only problem with the hood is how it was born of his fanaticism for All Might, which Midoriya needs to overcome to become his own hero, but I can also see it being like Midoriya taking something that was originally supposed to be based on All Might and making it his own instead.

It also reminds me of a moment from the Spider-Man comics where Doc Ock took control of Spider-Man's body and fought Scorpion. During the fight, he knocked Scorpion's jaw clean off with one punch. Ock never realized just how powerful Spider-Man was and how much he holds back until that moment.

I'm not a big fan of Superman stories but there is an animated Superman movie called Superman Vs. The Elites that I really liked where he shows the antagonists what it would be like if he didn't hold back and was ruthless as a lesson. It reminded me a lot
of All Might in this episode.

Rick at 3:28 to 3:39 was me when starting this episode (or actually throughout the whole AllMight vs. Deku and Bakugo fight XD Such a good fight and he played a vicious villain while still trying to give insight and lessons lol. Calvin chose what he thought was a safe bet but it turned out to be a trap!
"Calvin, you've heard these words before but you've never really known what they truly mean - until now.... Plus ULTRA!!!!" -Excellent impression Eric!

Close your eyes during the bet and it sounds like a kinky MHA roleplay.

I think most of Dekus admiration comes from their childhood, before Bakugo became such an asshole. Deku still sees him as that same determined child he was back then, and not the spiteful child he is now. Also i think people like Bakugo because he is kinda the opposite of Deku. Deku had the mentality of a hero before he got his power, so now his story is him getting stronger. Bakugo is already super strong, but not in the right mindset to be a good hero, that's what he has to achieve.

Not one of my favorite episodes. It really doesn’t make me think of Bakugo any different. Bakugo is a mixed bag for me. There’s parts of him I do like and a lot of him I dislike. I really don’t understand Dekus admiration of him. Like if anyone told me “go die scum” I would not be “oh man he’s cool”. But I really love their their rivalry like I did with vegeta/ Goku, sasuke/naruto.

I think the lesson the teachers wanted from Bakugo was to stop letting his pride get in his way and accept that just because Deku and others might be growing or getting better doesn’t mean he is inferior. Every time Deku shows improvement he loses it and starts acting rash like with their very first training exercise where he went after Deku personally and forgot about his objective. Or here where he originally started off attacking All Might without a real plan, which is unlike how he used strategy in the sports festival. Deku turns meek when he deals with Bakugo, regressing back to the way he was when they were kids and becomes less confident in himself. Eraser and All Might mention how pairing them up was less to do with grades or abilities, but on the fact that they don’t get along and how it hurts both of them when they are forced to interact.

Recovery Girl's narration kinda spells out what each of them had to learn: Deku has to learn to stop thinking of All Might as a god which is a hindrance in him trying to surpass him. A similar thing was said by Gran Torino about Deku treating One for All as a special power or a special finishing move rather than as *his* quirk. Bakugo on the other hand had to learn to work with others. He already knows all the 'basic' lessons - like having a singular laser focus on a goal (which was revealed in the Tournament arc when he fought the Class B guy who copies powers), or having raw talent coupled with training and analysis etc.... but he needs to learn to work with others, especially Deku since Deku seems to enrage him to an absurd degree. Almost like a human trigger. This caused him to lose focus in the season 1 battle (2 on 2) in the building (with Ochaco and Iida) when they first fought. So they both needed to learn psychological lessons and I feel like the exam fight with All Might did give them a start down that road. All Might's getting better as a teacher.

I think deku has an issue of idolizing all might to the point of thinking he can never defeat him whereas the good thing about kachan is that he is already aiming beyond All might

I can’t believe we’re coming tot he end of season 2 already. Blind Wave having the majority of season 3 to go during the hiatus is really going to help.
