That's incorrect. In the books Aemon says that all dragons are whatever gender they wish to be, and that any two dragons can reproduce. This is how the books dealt with the prophesy of the prince who was promised possibly being Dany. As Aemon believes that the prophesy is about a Targaryen, and as a dragon is any/all genders, he says any Targaryen can be considered any gender, thus Dany is the one who will fulfill the prophesy (for reference, he says this while on the boat with Sam).

The reproductive cycle of the dragons are largely unknown. There is not even any clarity to how you find out the gender of a dragon. The Targaryens just assumed they were male until they laid an egg.

The way I see it, Arya planned the whole thing out. She did plant Needle a few episodes ago in that location, and then somehow the entire attack lead back to needle, where she could turn out the lights and beat the waif. So, my theory:
Arya knew she would be attacked. Jaquen said that there would not be a third chance, and it is a group of assassins....it isn't hard to figure out that that means she would be killed if she failed a second time. Thus, she knew she would be attacked as soon as she decided to not kill the actress. Everything Arya did after that, was her baiting/setting a trap for the Waif.
She walks around town, unarmed, she talks about taking a boat back to her home loudly and in public, etc...all to bait a trap. Her being stabbed and surviving can then be explained by the fact that she would be expecting it, and perhaps had leather armor of some kind under her clothes to dull/limit the wound she would receive. This would mean she was injured, but not as bad as it appeared. True, the river was dirty, and her wound could have been infected...but not every cut causes an infection. i.e. Jon was shot three times back in season 3, and he didn't get infected. Theon was injured many times, and it doesn't seem like he ever received medical attention...and he had no infections occur.

Two stabs is several? I get it looks brutal but it's two to the gut plus a superficial slash.

Plot armor is what I would call it. Doesn't matter how tough you are, you aren't walking away from several stabs to the gut, one being twisted before pulling out. It would have taken a team of surgeons and several weeks to recover from that.
