Yeah, for all the note-taking they do, they sure do forget a lot of plot points/names lol

Also that’s why Aiwei has no shoes, he needs to feel the heartbeat with his feet

Alex Morelli

Roku lave bent when he possessed Aang in the solar eclipse episode, and he actually created lava out of rock if I remember correctly. Toph could tell when someone was lying because she could sense the increasing heartbeat through the earth, and Aiwei explains that’s what he does too in the first episode the gang arrives at Zaoufu (‘The metal clan’ I think). Also to be able to metal bend you need to understand how earth works, that’s why Toph was able to pick that skill up so quickly, she understood earth bending better then anyone else because she was blind her bending was completely part of her, and that’s why Korra, Who became a master earth bender before she was 16, could pick it up so easily too, Bolin probably learned how to earth bend out of necessity (you know growing up in the streets, joining gangs to survive and all that good stuff), he doesn’t have the basic understanding needed to metal bend

Alex Morelli

I hope they are making a mental note of how badass Kuvira is. Metal whipping Zaheer ain't no small feat.

Dajefe70

Naga is a female polar bear dog by the way

Alex Azarm

Korra can't die, it's the middle of the 3rd season! - Aang dies end of second season.

What do you guys use for your outro it's so good

Silvermoon

A pet peeve of mine is when they forget a detail/plot point about a show and then nitpick/criticise something because they don’t remember the explanation.

Able

Aaron you lose points for the Vanilla Ice TMNT reference with dance 🧐

*Notices a familiar guard* Wait isn't that?---sneaky ;D

Cody Kematch

Yep! What happened at the end of S2 was the end of Wan's cycle and the start of Korra's.

Lalisa Truong

toph could tell when people were lying through earth bending

Exactly and the only one who had a chance in fooling her was Azula "I'm a 400 foot purple-platypus bear with pink horns and silver wings"

Justin Montgomery

Kyoshi bend the continental earth, magma was a side effect. You can say the same of the previous avatar ... You can see that in both ways they want to take it as new I don't think there is a problem with that.

Mario Soriano

Also, I'm not sure if I heard you guys correctly or not, but the avatar cycle didn't really end. Korra started a new one, so after she dies, another avatar will be born. It basically got a reset.

Selena

We've seen Avatars bend lava before, so I don't understand why it's being "introduced" in Korra like it's a brand new thing. When Roku was talking to Aang about the Avatar State, we saw a flashback to a previous avatar shoot magma from several volcanoes. Kyoshi definitely did some bending to shoot the magma up when she was splitting from the continent. I don't know if Roku bended the lava when his land was in trouble BUT he did shoot up lava in his temple when he was taking over Aang's body in the Avatar state. So I guess the only thing really new here in Korra is that the lava is being bended by someone who isn't an Avatar, then again maybe Sozin did it when he was helping Roku, it's hard to remember. It's just weird how they went about here in Korra and how they treated it as something brand new.

Austin Bryant

Lava can set things on fire due to its hot temperature, but it is not fire itself. It's just molten earth.

Shirley

Lava IS earth. It's just pressurized rock. That's why only earth benders can do it.

Darth Skhorrn

From this episode until basically the end of the series it's just pretty much A+ episodes from here on out. This is the point where this series earns its spot as Avatar:TLA's semi-equal. (My opinion, obviously!)

This had nothing to do with the episode but since the guys brought up Korra’s glider I always wanted to know was it ever confirmed if that was Aang’s glider? It was the same style as the new one he got in book 3 and all the other air bender gliders we see in LoK are the traditional one Aang used in seasons 1 and 2.

Jjop017

I liked lava bending being subset of earth bending. True, I didn’t expect it since it always felt like whenever we saw the Avatar bending lava in the original series that it was a display of fire bending like when Koyoshi separated a landmass or when the nameless fire Avatar seen in Roku’s explanation of the Avatar State made three volcanoes erupt in the State, but I didn’t mind it being an earth subset. It is probably one of those substances that both earth and fire can bend, like how mud can be bended by both water and earth or clouds can be bended by air and water.

Jjop017

I mean Katara could control fogs and stuff and Aang could control clouds too before he learnt to waterbend. Same thing with Mud and the wall sludge, both Katara and Toph could control it on their own. So even if Lava was a combination bw fire and earth(which it isn't, its just melted earth like Ice and Water) Fire and Earth benders would be able to bend it individually anyway.

Burooj Ahanger

how could he be a truth seer without being a bender LOL

Burooj Ahanger

Ugh, I cant wait for the next episodes

closer to the end of Book 3. I can't wait to see their reactions oh and esp for you know what happens in Episode 10 so good lol

Andrew Garcia

Aiwee is basically trained in seismic sense like Toph to where she was able to tell if people were lying.

Siumen Umana

*sigh* no

Jay M

Aiwei detects lies using seismic sense just like toph did. Remember tha toph could use her ability to detect lies as well. She actually has the one great scene with azula when they met. If you look closely aiwei is always bare foot.

Jjj.

There is a weirdly focused shot of her in the season finally (or close to it) which at my first viewing stuck with me. It will be interesting if they are going to pick up on that.

Oooo that outro music is lit.

Taidow

All hail the great uniter!

Jesse Harnden

Another thing you may have forgotten in regards to Aiwei being a truth seer, it's an ability that Toph used in the original series. She was able to use her mastery of earth bending to sense the change in a persons vibrations or something and tell if they were lying, I think Aiwei is just trained to do the same thing.

Voreni

I JUST realized who that guard is!! Holy shit I never noticed! (fans of season 4 will understand)

Si1ence32

In regards to lavabending, I have to disagree with Aaron, I mean what's the difference between that and waterbenders being able to control and create ice and snow? They are still water just in a more solid state. Lava is just earth in a different state, just like metal is. We haven't really seen it much but firebenders were also able to control steam and smoke like Roku did in the original series. I think lavabending makes perfect sense in the lore the series had set for itself.

Voreni

It's only getting more amazing from here, you guys are in for a treat.

Gaëlle

The intensity really starts to ramp up from here!

That thumbnails got me hyped
