Twist to that balloon boy story: his mum and dad set the whole thing up. They were desperate for a reality tv series, so they hid him, raised the alarm, and hoped all the attention would make them famous even after he was found. Problem was, when they interviewed the family on live news, the kid kept revealing the whole thing was a scam.

The “Ballon Boy” thing was a hoax perpetrated by the parents who set off the ballon while the boy hid. I believe they both did a little bit of jail time over it.

I've explained this before, but the whole "rick was gone 20 years" thing ONLY appears in advertising blurbs on the back of DVD boxes and in series synopsises. And if you have ever read a series synopsis on Netflix or something, you know they aren't always accurate. NOWHERE in the show do they say how long Rick has been gone, only "a long time". Does that mean all the fan theories are automatically false? Not necessarily. But too many people treat the theories as absolute fact, when they are not. Those pictures and memories COULD be of our Morty. We simply don't know yet.
