Talking over things is what they do best. Also spending too much time trying to be funny or talking about irrelevant stuff instead of paying attention so they can actually react.

darn you guys spoke over my favorite moment with Kimblee, where he said "the only thing worse than death is to avert your eyes from it"

I also loved how everyone after was basically all like "Oh, we didn't see anything". Showed how much they disagreed and even hated the commanding officer. No one missed him when he was shot.

Order 66 in Star Wars and Executive Order 3066 in FMA are both referring to the same historical event: U.S. Executive Order 9066, which created the infamous Japanese internment camps.
Order 3066 was issued in 1908, seven years after the war began. So the war had actually already been going on a few years when Hawkeye's father died, and it wasn't until it was nearly over that Mustang was deployed. To compare some other dates: the Elrics' mom died in 1904, they tried to bring her back in 1910, and it is currently somewhere around October or November 1914.
Yeah, Mustang learned Flame Alchemy from "studying" Hawkeye's naked back. I don't know if they still "study" together, but it wouldn't surprise me. I'm certain they wanna, but they might not depending on how military fraternization rules work in Amestris.

The anime cut out one of the best scenes in the manga that showed how awesome Iron Blood Alchemist. In the manga when the Ishvalians surrendered the commanding officer refused it and said they would exterminate every last one of them. Iron Blood shoots him, takes command, and accepts the surrender. He arranged for a meeting with Bradley. I hate they cut that scene out. It shows how most people in the military hated what they were doing and wanted to end the war. I really don't understand why it was cut. It is a great moment for an it character and has more impact since it wasn't a main character who did it.

The message Vengeance written on the wall was probably from the doctor to Envy not about Scar getting vengeance on the doctor. At least thats how i saw it because last episode the doctor said he wanted to die because that it the only revenge he can take at this point vs Envy and the crew.

i don't rememer exactly the dates but i think that by the time Ed and Al's mom died, the war was still going on, it would make sense because she died because an epidemic strike the county, and if you look at Amestris map, Resembool (where Ed and Al lived) is pretty close to where Ishval was, so with the war it would be a lot of rotting corpses = a lot of bacteries and sicknes, and maybe that's why se feel sick and died :c

i believe the most powerful alchemy he is referring to is the flame alchemy. he was worried about it being used like a weapon. if you want to see why he would be worried about it falling into the wrong hands, look no further than kimbley. while he isnt using flame alchemy, his alchemy is somewhat similar and the amount of death and destruction he creates is devastating
also xerxes was destroyed a little under 400 years before when the series takes place

State Alchemists get their special code names on the day they get their certification, so Kimblee definitely got his "Crimson Alchemist" name before the philosopher stone.
Mustang was a Major in the flashback as all State Alchemists are automatically ranked Major in the military. With that, you can say that Major Armstrong's military career has been stagnant ever since he first joined them. Probably could not get any promotion due to him being dismissed from the war.

Answering a few questions that aren't spoilers. Hawkeye's father was referring to the flame alchemy when he said he had created the strongest alchemy, just because of how purely destructive it is. Also, Kimbley has 2 Transmutation Circles tattooed on his palms (not called glyphs guys :)), and when he puts his palms together they make a completed Circle that allows him to transmute. The reason different people use different Circles with different patterns, is because each Circle manipulates the energy needed to transmute in different ways. In order to use flame alchemy for example, Mustang not only has to have the correct Circle to manipulate the energy - he also has to have knowledge of what that energy is being used for. By that I mean, he creates flames by snapping his fingers, the gloves cause a tiny spark, and his actual alchemy is feeding oxygen into that spark in varying degrees. Now, where does the energy come from that people manipulate with alchemy? That actually is explained later :).

Master Hawkeye was referring to his Flame Alchemy when he talked about the most powerful alchemy, in his opinion of course. Flame alchemy has shown to be very powerful thus far..
