I mean, as someone who also reads up on this history stuff for fun (and also did it in school), it's not like the show does EVERYTHING historically correct either. :P And that's fine (I would love to visit those... famous Danish mountains...), and it's also fine that you don't have exactly correct information about the history in the show. But it is kind of fun hearing you talking about it and getting some of it right and some of it... a tiny bit off. :D But you'll do fine. Getting Rick in on these reactions could be a lot of fun though.
Really loved the discussion after this. You seem immediately sucked into this show, which is always fun. Poor Athelstan though. Like, sure, he might have gotten off easily compared to some of the others but man, this is all pretty harsh for him overall. I can relate though, I also get very talkative when I'm drunk. :P
Looking forward to next Thursday (fitting, Thor is on their side afterall!) and to finally catch back up with this show.

It makes it so we get more reaction time while still being fair use. Moments where what's happening does not matter, the focus is what they're doing, stuff like that.

When Shane said the Vikings worked for the Romans he is referring to the Byzantines based in Constantinople (sometimes called the eastern Roman empire) and the Varangian guard which was an elite unite of Norse warriors who served as personal guards to the Byzantine emperor. The Roman empire in the west fell in about 476ad and the Viking age began in roughly 800ad, so by the Viking age the "Roman empire" based in Rome had already been gone for about 350 years. Also English Longbowmen were not around for about another 500 years.
I know you guys get people saying this kind of thing for lots of shows all the time, but man I would pay money for more of these Vikings reactions.

Oh shit, Calvin is right. Having Rick react to this together with you guys would be awesome as hell.
Is there a way you can actually do that or does he live too far away, doesn't have the time or has already seen this show?

English longbow wont be around for another 500ish years. The vikings created a kingdom called the danelaw in northern england. Plus England didnt exist as a united nation at this point.
