Opening Credits  ๐ŸŽง

Hey folks,

Nothing new to report.  I'm just cleaning up my Patreon wall, and archiving some older renders.  Wanted to preserve this personal collection I did for my own satisfaction.  Even though I've improved my rendering techniques, I'm very proud of how these turned out back in the day.

Global Frequency was one of those comics that had a formative influence on my life.  It shaped my appreciation for anthological storytelling, good science fiction, and understated character writing.  That Warren Ellis was able to do it in such short formats is a testament to his creative genius.  This was Black Mirror before Black Mirror.

Another thing that was ahead of its time were the minimalist covers for each issue.
Comics used to have very flashy covers back in those days, and they still kinda do.
The fact that Brian Wood was able to apply a gonzo cover art to each issue, all related to the stories within them - they all seduced a sense of mystery to anyone browsing the shelves.

I tried to mimic this a bit, paying homage to Wood's work with a few of my pieces.

That's my personal collection in the last shot.  I recently broke them out to rediscover first principals and my lost childhood.  ๐Ÿ˜…

If I daydream about anything, it's to have been showrunner for a high-octane animated anthology of Global Frequency.  Similar to how Love, Death, and Robots is done.

One of the opening credits would've been the song above.  It fits the theme and concept very well.  ๐Ÿ˜Š

Anyways, I hope you'll excuse this little archive post.  I'm still busy working on the Power Girl Prologue, and I very much appreciate your patience as I try to put out of my best and most technically challenging updates this month!

Cheers, folks!  I hope you all have a great weekend!
