it's like internal mobility within a corporate setting, where the career goal/desire of the individual is important enough that their line manager should support them, even if it may cause harm to their team with less staffing, since they'd rather keep them within the firm vs the employee jumping ship to a competitor.

2026-01-13 23:54:52 +0000 UTCYeah I was a pretty talented, experienced softball player, but I went to a public high school that didnβt have the resources or financial support to make our team as competitive as it could have been. As a result I wasnβt really encouraged to grow my skills because I was busy filling the gaps for the rest of the team. I liked being a reliable player and a pillar for the team but it really dampened my enthusiasm for the sport and I ended up not playing in college like I could have.
