Being 100% honest, I don't think you'll like any of the characters, but it has some interesting concepts surrounding death and regrets after life. Won't say too much more in case you end up watching it. The anime isn't really about music at all, despite the name. It's more about death and the afterlife. There are some scenes of characters playing music, but it's not the focus. It's a bit old, and therefore suffers from older anime troupes, but if you can look past that, it has a compelling story.
