So the joke there was that he's oblivious to the elf girl because he fell asleep before this was a popular trope in anime.

2025-08-12 22:18:54 +0000 UTCI like isekais because they allow you to give the story a twist that most fantasy animes can't so I've seen a LOT of them and usually they are not that good, there's a few that are really good but I never knew this one was a double reverse isekai lol. Seems good, definitely excited for next episode.

2025-08-12 18:48:53 +0000 UTCThis is probably the single most relatable fantasy-adjacent anime I know. And will continue to be so especially now that I'm in my 30's. I'm guessing it's not a hugely popular isekai because anime watchers are very young by average and this is more of a lowbrow thing for people who grew up in the late 90's - early 00's. I bet some of them didn't even know SEGA used to be a console giant back in the day and not just a developer/publisher. The Mega Drive kicked SNES' ass!
