The reason why Beta said ''You have nothing worry about'' in 7:52 is because Cid healed Claire from possesion without her knowing that(it was at the start of season 1 I think). Since Beta knows the truth, she actually said: ''Your brother is Shadow so you dont worry about being possessed'' Oh, and the sudden cut in 20:00 was for the comedic purpose because Claire said ''I will help you but you have to fuck off because only I can save my brother'' and the cut was just reaction to that, like ''huh, the fuck did she say''

2025-03-04 21:56:34 +0000 UTCI finally caught up with the weekly episodes and I wanted to comment on some of your questions about whether some scenes were supposed to be funny or serious. In my opinion, this anime has two different points of view. From Cid's point of view, the story is a comedy, or rather, he doesn't even realize what's really happening most of the time. He just wants to look cool or like an NPC while it's happening. But from the point of view of EVERYONE ELSE in the story, what's happening is extremely serious, so we can enjoy the story the way we feel in the scene. Whether we find it funny or serious will depend on which character we're connecting with at the time. But that's the way I see the story, and there's no right or wrong. The important thing is to have fun.
