The show is actually really good but it is a50/50 with people because of the MC in the early part of the series especially which is ashame cause the show overall is great.

John Stevenson

at least the animation in this show is great, the battles are insane. The magic system is great, probably the best in isekai imo. mc is a major perv though, definitely hard to watch or it take it seriously sometimes +++minor spoiler++++ some part of s2 is about erectile dysfunction, ngl the ed arc took me by surprise lol

LOL I am good man. I would just make fun of the author for thinking there was a need to depict someone jerking off instead of going to a family funeral... like, lmaooo that "lesson" of how that is not a good approach to life is like already implied to anyone and everyone. I did like this music tho, so we can def do more music from the series.

It’s actually an amazing anime coming from someone who’s a fan, the video of the song is actually very similar to what happens to the MC. Since his mental and social growth were extremely stunted, he does some wrong and perverted things but the author has the world teach him that these things are wrong by making him have consequences. Thus as he spends more time in it, there’s barely any of that left even near the middle of season 1. But aside from the morally grey stuff and complicated topics, there’s a very loud character you wouldn’t like hearing on screen. Nothing as high pitched as the yellow one but it’s pretty constant lmao. The anime is actually really dark, real, and extremely psychological that goes into why these sorts of things happen and the type of effects long-standing trauma can have to the point where even going outside is terrifying to the MC. Reaction content to it isn’t as awkward as you might think especially bc it’s extremely good story telling. I think it just comes down to how divisive the actions of the MC are and being able to understand that you’re supposed to want him to change from that and un-learn it. And since that’s in the first season, even though there’s like none in the second season, people already come to the conclusion of what the show is. Extremely great opening and actually was one of my favorite openings from the season the anime aired.

Anime antics aside lol, Longman actually posted their members playing their respective instruments for this song solo that can answer your questions on what they're specifically playing. There's one for the bass and drums I know for sure, unsure about the others though. Just type in "Longman Spiral Bass" or drums and it's on their main channel in the results

Mushoku Tensei is so frustrating because production wise (animation, music, direction) it’s like a 10/10 and the world building is phenomenal. But for every one of its good points it’s outweighed by the protagonist. The whole setup is that it’s meant to be this long, arduous redemption story of a truly reprehensible person, and sometimes the author really nails that leading to some genuinely beautiful moments that are superbly written and resonante hard, but then the author will make the most baffling backward choices that seem to go against what he is trying to do with the protagonist. You’ll find that Mushoku Tensei is one of the most divisive anime ever made because the author is genuinely really talented and has an amazing ability of being able to write superb prose and stories, and people are always more disappointed with a story that could be great than a story that’s bad. Anyway yeah you would hate this show, it’s not for you and 100% it’ll never get on a vote but the music is amazing, especially the first opening from season 1.

AussieBoy

Mushoku Tensei is definitely the single most divisive anime that’s out right now. The quality of the animation, music, directing, and worldbuilding is undeniable. But the protagonist is so morally reprehensible that it instills genuine rage and disgust from most people. If you really want to know what it’s about you have to watch it yourself. No one will be able to give you an unbiased (positive or negative) summary of the show

FTN Chicken

Mushoku Tensei might turn out worse than Re Zero for you, especially if you read the comments on every episode, I can already imagine what the comments would look like if you ever do a reaction 😂 but yeah, this anime is definitely not for you

MASUCAULNE

Dude wtf are these exaggerations. I agree with Menace.

andrew_nugooyeen

there is alot wrong with your statement @avalon, not all of it, but there are also some severe exaggerations in there

Red Menace

also i cannot stress enough that you will NOT like this show @tony, its the original webnovel that set up all the cliches that you hated in re:zero, just done better, but still, you will not like it

Red Menace

Pretty much the commentary I would add here has already been said by a few others. The show is a hard sell for reaction style content. Given everything we've learned about your taste over the past couple of years, its a no brainer why it hasn't been recommended much. Out of context, experiencing the music is still great. With that out of the way... I do support the idea of stickers on our CDs that say stuff like "Auto Tune Free!" similar to labels you find on food. Or, "now contains 20% more Orb recommendation."

Hikikomori (Japanese: ひきこもり or 引きこもり, lit. "pulling inward, being confined"), also known as severe social withdrawal, is total withdrawal from society and seeking extreme degrees of social isolation and confinement. So basically mushoku is about a person who experienced extreme levels of bullying, i mean beaten, stripped, and then roped to the front of the school, naked, lvl's of bullying. as a result of this he became a Hikikomori and basically never advanced mentally beyond his teenage years, and in fact regressed due to the trauma, and this kept going till he was physically in his 40's where his only view of the world, women and more being basically video games, porn, porn games, and such, his parents die, he gets kicked out of the house, saves someone and dies in the process and re-incarnates as a baby in a "fantasy" world. but with all of his memories intact, and the story is him overcoming those hangups in the "second life". Trigger warning, because he was basically a child in adult body who re-incarnates as a literal child, he acts like a child, with a completely warped view of the world, and as a "13" year old has sex, so ya... its one of those things where if you cant buy the premise you will be messed up with the show, which is totally fine, it is NOT for everyone.

Red Menace

Hitorie did the OP for the 2nd part of season 2 and I rly like the song by itself but it feels too much like a shonen action opening song. I still feel like it's songs like these and the ones in season 1 that captures the feel of the show better.

elijah lew

Fat loser stays home from his granny’s funeral to masturbate to anime elementary schoolers and gets kicked out of the house only to get hit by a truck and die. Gets reincarnated into a magical world with all of his memory as a baby and gets off to sucking his moms tits, gets off to hearing his parents have loud sex, and fetishizes his magic teacher who looks 14 but is secretly like 90. There is GREAT potential for him to grow as a person, but instead he just cheats on his wife with his cousin and starts a polyamorous harem and then lets his little half sister groom his kid and marry them. Not to mention when he kidnapped, tied up, and sexually assaulted two girls in college to…? I’m not sure, but I guess it’s okay because they act like they like him afterwards The first season is legitimately good, with some cringe scenes, and lots of good ideas. Him getting over his trauma to leave the house for the first time, and every single episode having a unique opening really sets the show apart, but my knowledge of the novels is that it (he) just goes further and further downhill

Avalon

Oh wow. Lmao I literally ask I'm this reaction WHAT is about.

DrumRollTony

It’s a shame Mushoku is about a pedophile pervert and his groomer friends because the music and animation are top fucking notch
