Konosuba Movie: God's blessing on this wonderful world!- Legend of Crimson

10/10 This is wild and so out there but I love it so much.
Poor guy just about became the father of a new orc tribe 💀
Might and magic and everything dumb that can be in between... never realized what a treat Konosuba would become.

I remember watching this movie in theaters. Fun times.

If you think about it Megumin is a cute anime girl terrorist lol

1:22:12 I never noticed but isn't that a reference to LOTR lol

I did notice that about the tea 🤣

One of my favorite parts of this show is that while there are scenes going on with larger jokes, there are often smaller jokes being thrown in that they don't feel like drawing extra attention too but you can get extra laughs from. Like when Kazuma calls him himself Mitsurugi, he does his "I'm Kazuma" bit but as "I'm Mitsurugi" every time someone says that name. Also in the very beginning Aqua serves Yunyun "tea" but as usual because she's an incompetent goddess she's turned it into purified hot water, as you can tell because it's perfectly clear with no color. I love the commitment to the joke lore they've established in prior episodes.

Kazuma realizing how Slyvia has the equipment of a man is hands down one of the funniest moments I have encountered in any anime. 😂

Jet Man

Also, yeah, in the "picnic" scene it's implied that, instead of enabling and allotting Megumin's points to advanced magic, he just spent them on leveling up her Explosion, thus maintaining her status as "Explosion Magic Arc Wizard". Another random detail that cracks me every time is when Kazuma locks Sylvia and they talk while she screams in the background, you can hear her get so wound up she yells in a much deeper, male-sounding voice, which idk why but I always think it's such a funny detail to add that can go unnoticed so easily.

Unbeknownst Man

After the movie, you can watch either the Megumin spin-off show, or go on to the third season. The spin off is called "KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!" It is a prequal about Megumin and the Crimson Demon Village. Its an alright watch but can be skipped. I never finished it since it was kinda slow and not as interesting since it doesn't have the main cast, but the ending song of it is great.

The first two seasons were animated by "Studio Deen". This movie is animated by a different studio, "J.C. Staff". The 3rd season is animated by a different studio too, "Studio Drive".

Ainz Ooal Gown

I remember the first time I watched this movie in theaters and it was so damn wild lmao

V STAN

It is a different studio, yes, but it's also common for Movies and many OVAs to get a different treatment than anime, since there's less restrictive timelines, a bigger budget and more available talent, so it's a common sight to see better quality animation, smoother and more detailed. To me, Konosuba is on the same level as OPM in terms of entertainment, it's just awesome.

Unbeknownst Man

While I don't think it's ever outright stated, I think the insinuation is that rather then put Megumin's points into advanced magic, Kazuma instead put all of her points into her explosion magic hence why her explosion was so massive and she seems surprised by it.

peeps

Usually anime movies in general just have better animation quality because they can take their time compared to full shows that are 10 episodes on average with a 20-30 minute runtime.

Lixien

Movies usually get more production time so the animation will look better. J.C Staff did this movie and is also the studio for One Punch Man S2, unfortunately that had a very rushed production so there's a noticeable dip in quality.

Frizen

It looked amazing

DrumRollTony

Yup this is still funny after 3 rewatches

Sk dragon

Hilariously Amazing. Btw, yes the animation studio changed for movie and it also changes for season 3 but don't worry Same funny direction

Dario Lizardisilva

One of the writers for pulp fiction legit called this movie one of the best experiences in cinema he's ever had. Can't blame him, this was hilarious 😂😂
