In a way, it was also satisfying how much more of a coward it portrayed the demon vs people who fight with mortal bodies in the dark. The indomitable human spirit to fight when all of the odds are against them

2024-11-20 06:46:36 +0000 UTCI posted this in an earlier episode, but the Japanese kanji for the word "Hashira" used as the rank for the top demon slayers ζ±, literally translates to "pillar", like the physical pillars holding up a building. When Rengoku said to Tanjirou at the end that he should grow strong and become a Hashira, the sentence structure used gave it a double meaning: not just to earn the rank, but also to become one of the "pillars" holding up, supporting the organisation, much like what Rengoku himself, and the other Hashira generally, are. As a bonus, the word Rengoku "η η" (which is technically his family name) literally translates to "purgatory", which sort of explains why the ninth form of Flame Breathing is named that.

Within the context of the journey it's awesome so I HAVE SEEN SOME SHIT bebecause I'm not at S2 yet. Do you understand??? It's fucking awesome in comparison to everything else SO FAR. Later seasons/moments of DS, and the Fate heavens feel movies are just immaculate with their Animation/CG/presentation/OST/VA's Ufotable is just the absolute gold standard on anime production. and i dont think you've watched any other Ufotable shows yet, other than fate/zero which was made in 2011-12.

It is a tragedy and just sets the stage for the rest of the enemies, like "hey all the lower moons are dead. Everyone left is this strong"
