2024-11-14 04:08:36 +0000 UTC100% true the entire song is just occult references, I know just enough Japanese that I can hear it in key parts and confirm this + subbed/translated versions point to this as well. It's actually very cool and a great google deep dive if you want to learn more about Japans occult culture from half the stuff that gets mentioned in the song! Hell even the name of the song, 'Otonoke' is meant to imply a paranormal/occult being that invades/haunts you via sound! So the song being catchy as it is and the post chorus that gets repeated: "I'll live again and again inside him, or inside you Behind those eyelids and inside those ears In the melody and rhythm That haunts deep down the heart for many years, yeah" Its really a great song and they did an awesome job making it so thematically on point!
