I notice you're already picking up on it, but besides the incredible animation, my favorite thing about this anime is the character motivations/philosophies and how they align/clash with each other. It's a masterclass on its own. Each character has a very carefully crafted concept (who they are, in case of servants even their noble phantasm abilities are part of it, and the fact they're legendary heroes amplifies those ideals, etc.,) but the genius to me lies in the scriptwriting when those concepts are juxtaposed and/or interacting with each other.

Ill hold off saying too much for the time being to avoid possible spoilers. I can say this much to answer your question on the servants connection to their mastrs health, masters need to constantly give servants mana to replenish the power they used in battle. The holly grail summond them, but mastrs still mush continue to feed them mana.

Man, I didn't realize how much I missed listening to Kalafina. They're the female vocal trio that pops in right when Archer launches his weapon at Berserker, and they've put out some right bangers over the years. Looking forward to hearing their work in this anime again!

When you're talking about like how Demon Slayer being a successor to the tech used here, but not feeling the same, yeah once this is done you should for sure check out the sequel series "Fate/Stay Night: UBW" and "Heaven's Feel". Those ones take what they learned here, stick in that same world and genre, and turn the knob to 11

If some reactors do cut versions is because they're usually the edited version for Youtube. They can't just do the full thing. Tony doesnt post reactions on YT so that's not a problem. A lot of reactors do both, edited and full reaction (only on their patreon/paid platform) and if they're full some of them just give a timestamp just to make sure they don't have problems in the future by posting the full episode on their patreon. They want you to watch it somewhere else.

Yeah 3D CGI animation is pretty divisive within the anime community. There are studios like ufotable and Orange who do it really well but there also a lot of times where it looks terrible. You can look up bad anime CGI if you want a good laugh lol.

It's fine to have a crunchyroll subscription, but it's still highly suggested to use the far superior fanmade and passionately made releases of the videos. Not to mention that Crunchyroll didn't fix their uploads so they're still going with the broadcast version instead of the studio-fixed Blu Ray versions that are available online elsewhere. That means that there are some scenes and whatnot cut from the crunchyroll version that the studio and director wanted to add but couldn't fit into the broadcast version. Not to mention that they say if you add up the total added scenes from the Blu Ray you'll get an extra episode's worth in terms of runtime

AFAIK Servants use their master's mana to manifest and use abilities and stuff, and the bug guy needs bugs to have enough mana for his servant to do stuff, and the bugs do bad stuff to him in the meantime. Sorry for the crap explanation lmao

Ufotable's signature style is 3D/2D composition so it's not as though this was the first time people saw this style of animation, but they're the best at what they do!

I think a bigger reason why people would be concerned about Crunchyroll is that some episodes have heavily censored scenes which really does take away context from imo otherwise pretty impactful scenes

For the connection between Masters and Servants health, in episode 1 its briefly mentioned that the Servant pretty much lives on the Masters mana. So if the Servant starts using a lot of mana, ie. using powerful moves, it puts strain on the master.

FINALLY I can share my favorite piece of animation trivia - the director wanted Berserker to really stand out as threatening- so they animated him fully in 3D! It was a pretty bold move and animating the whole show like this would've probably been a disaster, but by using it with restraint they were able to give him such a unique vibe without much dialogue, love when they use the medium creatively like that.
