Glad you are watching the Fate series, I love most of the show from Apocrypha and Grand Order but Zero, Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel is the best series imo.

One of my top 10 of all time. Little to no cheesy moments. Amazing soundtrack (Yuki Kajiura). Visuals by Ufotable, the best in the business. The whole thing can get confusing but really really excited for this one!

You're being a stereotypical Fate fan, c'mon now. It's not rocket science, Fate/Zero has been many people's first Fate anime, it's got cool animation and a more palatable plot if you're not already bought into the universe.

Every time someone starts Fate, there will be some comments of "should have started with the other one" but those will be gone in few episodes. The reality is, it doesnt fucking matter at all. Like, yes, there are some spoilers but unless we tell you its been spoiled already you wont even notice. Anyway glad you finally picked it up and are enjoying it. You are in for a fucking insane ride and a half.

Some scenes have blood but yes they cut alot in others like some violent acts and along with blood...., that, and just a whole 8-10 minutes gone from a couple episodes.

I would HIGHLY recommend to watch the uncensored/bluray version of this, Crunchyroll does not have it unfortunately. the Crunchyroll version cuts like 10% of the show and have obscure censors and subpar translation. Not to mention the quality is remastered in 1080p. You can pretty much watch it on any other online site

I started with Deen but nahh, I would just stick with what UFOtable has done. Who knows, maybe they will pick up stay night someday and remake it.

Yeah, that's fine too it's just that it's weird to watch the prequel as the first entry to a series. If you're feeling brave, you could watch the first Fate/Stay Night anime made by Studio Deen, since it covers the first route of the original game. I wish Ufotable would remake it because the first route is the best entry point to the series, but the original anime is quite old, and Studio Deen changed some things, so it's hard to recommend.

Fate/Zero aired first because Fate/stay night had already aired, allowing Type-Moon to create the prequel knowing that anime-only viewers would have at least watched the first route of the game. Additionally, Unlimited Blade Works is just another route of the main game, so it naturally expands on things that are not available in other routes. Yes, Fate/Zero has a novel—I had totally forgotten about that. However, Fate/Zero novel is a prequel created with the assumption that fans are already familiar with what happened in Fate/stay night, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heaven's Feel. Therefore, it is not ideal to start with Fate/Zero.

Yes in terms of the novels UBW comes first, but It makes more sense to watch Zero first as an anime only considering it literally aired first and provides context about the rules and how the Holy Grail war works, while UBW expands on it. Also Zero did have a light novel that came out in 2006-2007, so it's not anime original

Probably have to google fate zero parameter stats. Might want to wait till all the servants are revealed first if you care about that aspect of the show. In this one they kinda reveal themselves right away minus one servant thats identity is hidden for awhile.

OH well Fate/Zero what a blast from the past. Fate as a franchise is one of the deepest rabbitholes you can dive in and i envy you having a blind dive. There is this whole running gag where one should start the Fate series because it has so many offshoots in all kinds of media but for the anime Fate/Zero is definitely the most hype also to graps the basics. I will definitely enjoy this reaction and just like with every one of your shows im eager to hear more information and technical tidbits from the perspective of musician.

It's funny you bring DnD into this, because every servant has it stats and skills page and DnD alignment. For Fate/stay Night it was in game, Fate/Zero has it in books.

The trade was that on the off chance Kariya won then sakura would stop the training. By prepping Sakura for the next war hes really prepping her offspring since mages can transfer their magic to their heir via magic crest, hence the crest worms. Thats why the Waver kid wants to prove talent can overcome generations of family magic since in the magic world having a "bigger" magic crest shows status.

when I first saw zero and read what Tokiomi said about his relic, "The fossilized, molten skin of the first snake, shed at the dawning of our world." I could only think of a few individuals in myth who were related to snakes at the dawn of our world. I was just waiting on the show to confirm weather I was right or wrong. That was fun

All you need to know for now is that there are 7 types of servants: Saber, Archer, Lancer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. Same heroes can be summoned in different types depending on the circumstances.

Some small info on servants every servant in fate is an actual person/legend/hero/myth/concept of our actual history.(with some very very few fateverse original chars) and as a viewer its a fun side quest to try and figure out who the servants are before they reveal themselves. Granted some servants just straight up say who they are, but the ones that dont are all fun to guess on.

That about sums it up. Just hope people don't mention how and in what way all the Fate series outside of UFOtables' production are related to each other. It becomes so convoluted and messy not even hardcore fate fans can explain it 😂 low-key hope he just sticks with UFOtables adaptations. And then maybe he can pick up the new Fate/Strange-Fake series whenever that releases since that should be a good watch with the context this series provides

Heyo Wall of text incoming. Just wanted to say something about maybe why fate fans struggles with the watch order of fate and im going to compare it to the mainline movies of star wars. Imagine that Fate/Zero is Episodes 1-2-3 from star wars. and that Fate/stay night Fate Route, UBW route and HF route is episodes 4-5-6 respectivly. From star wars PoV everyone agrees that starting with episode 4-5-6 is the correct way to start it, with fate that is still true however for anime onlies imagine that episode 4 of star wars included alot of plot points/scenes from episodes 5 and 6. With scenes like ''Luke, i am your father'' scenes popping in or fights that are supposed to be in 5-6 are in episode 4. which is why if you are able to/can endure then the Visual novel is the only ''correct'' way to start it. Then we come back to Fate/Zero, for anime onlies i would 100% agree that this is the best starting point for the fate franchise, and then go to the UBW anime and then to the HF movie trilogy. after that its pick whatever spin off you want that fancies you. Also please dont let this comment scare you away from the Fate franchise, with your DnD background i am 100% sure you will enjoy 99% of what fate will offer you.
