Mob Psycho S2 Ep 11

Comments

The secondary school that i joined was pretty famous for its Choir, and they'd made it mandatory for all new joiners to at least audition, and i went along the flow and eventually joined because i was successful and i didnt have an idea of what else to do (and didn't want sports as i had been burned out from the track and field club in primary school). But it was pretty intense with practice outside of designated club hours, and i had thoughts especially in the beginning if i should quit and do some sort of sports which i'd enjoy more, or join another club which is chill. Some also thought it was weird for guys to be in a choir (including me as i never had choirs in my mind until that point), but i got over that bit pretty quick since it was just sinnging and male vocalists aren't a weird thing, so i disregarded that sentiment completely even if people who thought that way existed. But i'm happy that i didn't quit, as I learned more about music from a different perspective and more fundamentals/theory based, and now better appreciate and enjoy the skill and hardwork of the music i listen to (was intitally NoCopyrightSounds tracks when i joined the choir, but it became mainly anime songs as i progressed through secondary school to become my main source)

the build up from 19:03 just for Reigen to catch him by surpirse at 19:29 is probably the funniest moment Reigen for me, especially when he's yelling Self Defense so that it seems like its Self Defense even when he's not sure

the creepy music at 6:40 reminds me of the music that plays in halo when you meet the flood

This Tangent Tony was great. If you haven't heard of him, there's a bass player names Charles Berthoud I found on YT that does all bass covers of songs. Could be cool to checkout on stream or YT some time. Metallica's former bass player, Jason Newsted, has his own band and its music is much more bass prominent.

I'd say I definitely became distant from people when I was younger because a lot of what you described in terms of people being critical or judgy of certain things just lead me to not even bother engaging with people in school. I still had school friends but once I left high school I basically never spoke to any of them again, and it's instead the friends I made online who were more mature about that stuff that I still know today. I think a lesson I learned that I wish they'd teach kids way younger is that not everything is for you, not everything is for everyone, and someone else liking or not liking something doesn't mean you have to think the same, and that's perfectly fine. With regards to what you were saying for quality of music I think it's just pressure to conform to mainstream combined with people not having their listening skills developed. They can't appreciate more complex music because it might literally be too much for them to handle, like sensory overload. As if you shoved a rainbow into the face of someone who's only ever known black and white. And for better or worse they're fine with that and have no desire to broaden their horizons. Perhaps ignorance is bliss because they can be easily amused.

Americans definitely have more of a "more money÷higher score" culture, imo it has to do with the way individualism is ingrained into everyone from a young age, tbh that's where most of the cultural issues in the US come from

i agree 100% i admit im swayed a lot by what other people think about the stuff i like, but also by the recomendations that are given to me and what i find online. but ultimately im at a net positive as finding that stuff expands my knowledge and library of music. when i found your reactions a couple years ago i was just starting into music production and your analysis helped me greatly in training my ear to listen to the several layers of composition and understand why the music i like is good. i used to just listen to soundtracks but have since expanded my tastes to all forms of rock as well as a little bit of jazz and metal.

Oh and the guy in the jar who turned into the giant ent thing was the dude who was possessing the girl at the start of the season

Shimizaki’s time to shine. Fun fact on my first watch i somehow skipped this ep and kept wondering the whole season “where tf did Shimizaki go?”😂
