Oshi No Ko S2 Ep 7

It keeps getting better.
I hope this wins something

I am very divided on the Kana vs Akane love triangle with aqua. I don't want either to get hurt, but I know both can't get what they want. I am definitely a little more towards the Kana side, but I also deeply care about Akane. I don't really like the triangle.

All good then 👍😁

Bro it's all good, nothing was imposing. I just assumed the reply button was ok for me to use in this case. 😅 cheers

DrumRollTony

I didn't reply cause the question seemed rhetorical, but no I haven't. Well I don't usually write at all under episodes, but for some reason I felt the need to voice my thoughts out. I see how my comment may have seemed imposing but I wouldn't know how else to phrase it. Cheers

Lol I'm not upset. You just typed out a thesis filled with a lot of "I think" so I was just curious if you had ever worked with a cast. I'm not sure this series would have the same entertainment flair without conflict soiled in drama tho. Real or not people seem to dig that. Especially with what season 1 was wrapped around.

DrumRollTony

Well I never claimed that it doesn't exist, the fact that it's being depicted in this anime itself is a giveaway that it indeed exists, but fiction doesn't have to be 1:1 with reality. I just personally think a piece of entertainment, art, music ecc... turns out better when you leave ego out of it. But that's just my opinion again, everyone has a right to disagree. Often times actors refuse certain jobs because the character is either evil, controversial or not in line with their image, and they treat more like a job than art which is completely fine but yeah. Did I upset you? If so I apologize it wasn't my intention.

AJ

Have you ever worked with a cast before??? YOU might not think there should be a best actor but believe me... that dramatic ego exists

DrumRollTony

It's probably an unpopular opinion, but the last few episodes I really struggled to feel invested, I don't really feel invested in the Kana and Akane dynamic, like I don't care that their battling for being the best actress, maybe also because I think it's a silly thing to do. Because it's impossible really to judge who's acting the best, as someone can align more with a certain character then someone else therefore needing to "act less". I think it's also something I dislike more on principle, like I don't see acting as we should compete against each other, but more like we should work together to put on the best show we can, not that I think that one needs to support the other or take a step back, because if a story is well written usually the spotlight is shared, like there isn't any supporting characters in real life, it all depends on perspective. I think in a way you should not have an ego when acting, you should be of complete service to the character rather than to the story or the show. Whatever you think the character would do in that situation is what you should do regardless of how the whole thing will be perceived, because I believe that in turn by doing that the whole thing will benefit from it. So I don't really think one should aim to outshine his colleagues, but rather aim to be the character, and at that point make egotistical decisions based on the character's inclinations and way of thinking. Still a great episode, this is more of a principle critic I guess, but the way their message is conveyed is awesome, the visuals the music everything knocks it out of the park, and when the bit of music at the end kicks in it's always bittersweet knowing the episode is ending. I just felt like putting this out there. Have a good one

That harsh cut also made me go back to see if it was a mistake, it was so unexpected but so good at the same time

AussieBoy

They nailed the casting of akane and kana so much, their voices and tone are exactly as I envisioned in the manga. Especially akane, with how quiet and desperate she sounds

JoeyGuy7

I thought that seemed familiar.

Jet Man

I heard it also

DrumRollTony

Did anyone else hear the Zelda Fairy fountain at 20 Minutes in or am I just addicted to that game? lol

Disturbing_1

I Love the Tokyo blade theme they keep using

elijah lew

The godlike artwork in this show goes without saying, but man as a professional editor and someone with their background in film, the direction in this show is so amazing. Best directed anime of the year for sure. It's just so fun to watch! Maybe a little dramatic, but not when you're already invested.
