FMAB Ep 20

Granny pretty chill with the info tho

FMAB Ep 20

Comments

To defend the show Pinako didn’t take Hohenheims warning seriously so why would she tell Ed if she herself doesn’t believe it. Also her not mentioning Trisha’s last message to Ed is also just not relevant to him so again she didn’t bother mentioning it.

Jack Allen

dude the brackets in the middle of the episode.. the VA is having too much fun with them. FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST!!!

cue

Maybe the Rockwells had it like a previous comment mentioned since Winry is an automail mechanic and all

Jack Allen

He mentions it very quickly in passing in this episode that he's thinning out the parts that are still there for the material to fix the broken parts.

Alberto Munoz

For the last part of your comment I think you're right, I'm not sure but I believe it was said somewhere (was it the manga ?) that when Ed repairs Al's armor he does it by thinning out the rest of it (so taking from the rest of the armor)

The first time I read FMA, I thought that ED & Al created a "lesser" form of a homunculus (like the sins), because it was a black-haired body, but after what Izumi said regarding the "baby" she transmuted, I think my theory's not very sound. Regarding the armour, I'm assuming it was Hohenheim's or maybe even the Rockwells, since they work fixing automail and such, but regardless of the owner, I think Ed doesn't want to mess with the armour to avoid breaking/messing up the blood seal inside it. Besides, the steel armour must be a tank, so it helps that it's big so it protects the seal with Al's soul, I'd say. Oh, and if we abide by the laws of alchemy in the show, Ed needs something of equal value to perform alchemy, so I assume that when he fixed Al's armour, for example, the fixed parts are weaker because he had to use what was already there, he can't create "more armour" out of nowhere, if I'm right assuming so, hah.

I hate the misunderstanding trope not for when its used for humor (tho that can be annoying), but when its used to create conflict between characters

I do enjoy that piece of music that played in that last scene before the credits.

For the suit of armor, I think the bigger question is why does this little country home out in the sticks have a 7 foot suit of heavy steel armor? Maybe it was made as some over the top display armor for some noble's house or even castle, but why do THEY have it? That was always the sillier part for me

I love at 22:21 (in your video, not the episode) the reflections on Al's helmet make it look like tears running down his eyes as he laments being unable to bear these sleepless nights

Nick K

Next few episodes some shit is about to go down is all I’ll say!

Jack Allen

They didn't transmute anyone in particular. They just created a "physical body", just a corpse that doesnt belong to anyone.

Lixien

You were asking who the people who were transmuted were if they weren't Izumi's kid and Trisha. What I got out of the lore explained in this episode is that you can't bring a dead soul back. In the case of the boys, Alphonse explained it was him in the transmuted body, which is why it moved. In Izumi's case, nobody's soul was disembodied, so I think it was just an empty body. In the flashback, we never see it move. As for the transmuted body being male in the case of the boys, I just assumed that the form the body takes is random, or maybe based on the materials used. But it was lucky that the transmuted bodies were different from the real people. If any of the characteristics had matched by chance, they would have never been able to figure it out. Of course, that would make for a poor story.

Alberto Munoz

Yeah after watching anime for a long time, constant misunderstandings and miscommunication used as an easy way to create humour or plot points is just... tedious at this point. But eh, happens to me and pretty much everyone in real life so I guess it's not all that bad

Martin Lamaze

Hohenheim just being a mysterious bastard. Dude has answers to all the secrets but just gives us a cryptic warning and leaves.
