Sound! Euphonium S3 Ep 13 FINAL

Well, this ended PERFECTLY. I could not ask for anything better.
All my thoughts about it are in the reaction, thanks for watching with me!
Make sure to comment what you want to hit the polls for the next music anime.

Sound! Euphonium S3 Ep 13 FINAL

Comments

I can't echo this sentiment enough. Great watch. Idk if you'll see this, but do you know any other good channels for this show? It's so, so very hard to find good reactions to this show because it is music focused... which obviously makes it hard to post.

Undeath Ghost

It was great to have another rewatch with your perspective. You came at it pretty critical, so I was worried you wouldn't enjoy it, but Im glad you did. I love that we can only be so nitpicky on a show like this because they get so much right. Not just technically, but the feeling of band. When mizore and nozomi are on the quiet bus ride back to the school after a bad result, I've felt that exact feeling so many times. There's moments like this all over. Most musicians will relate to the smallest but most meaningful moments in this show, and that makes it so special. I think my favorite moment in the entire series is when Kumiko opens up the Euph for the first time and smiles. It's just so true to the heart of it all. I fucking love this show.

Shucks

Thx for watching

DrumRollTony

Thanks for your perspective as a music teacher, it was informative and entertaining to listen to your tangents and stories from your time as a high school music teacher. Glad you enjoyed this show as much as we did. Late to party for recommendations but I 2nd Macross franchise, specifically Macross Frontier whenever that becomes available on Disney+ in the US.

maxieflame

Thank you for watching “Sounds! Euphonium “, it’s more interesting to rewatch my third time with an expert’s perspective. Top 1 anime series for me, the music, the animation, the storytelling, the voice acting are so perfect. It will forever take a special place in my mind.

3 fun things: 1. The clips they show during the montage match the season of the piece they play since the piece represents the Composers experience with their Dad for a year. 2. Kumiko had the clip on her clipboard that she told Shuiichi to give back if he wanted to date her after band.. so possible relationship. 3. At the beginning of episode 1 they show her assistant advisor desk and the beginning of the last scene of this episode, just like in Season 2 where it started and ended with Asuka walking off and Kumiko seeing the name of the piece. What an amazing anime

ogbo

What a great ending to a great series 😌

RamsessZ

I hadn't really paid attention to this series before. I'm glad having watched this series along with you. I loved the ending.

DMV Makoto

Beck and nodame cantabile

Nusutto

We still have Fullmetal Alchemist

Jet Man

I thought I was also but I needed a different vibe. CG wore me down a bit

DrumRollTony

Musical: beck mongolian chop squad Non-musical: Evangelion I thought you gonna replace Code Geass with another "classical" anime and prepared Evangelion for next "classical" vote. Since you pushed Demon Slayer I just try my luck putting EVA here. Let it simply be here, it won't bite =) PS Actually it will

d_swordfish

Yea i second this

JoeyGuy7

Paripi Koumei would be fun, honestly though there's nothing else in the same galaxy as Eupho when it comes to anime involving music topics.

Anorus

Great anime

Jc

For the next show, I think Carol and Tuesday is the best choice. Also...Suichi wins!!!!....HA HA HA.

Luis Arispe

Totally agree, Highly underrated 👆

Lucipurr

I'm glad that some people still remember Kono Oto Tomare! as well. It's a show about a school music club that focuses on koto, a traditional japanese music instrument, which is probably why some people might of skipped it. But the music was actually beautiful, I'm surprised that I loved it so much. The only sad part is that there's no season 3 (not even announced yet), and the last season was aired in 2019. But manga is still ongoing, so there's a chance that when it ends they'll wrap up the anime as well. Hopefully.

Baka

Music anime suggestion: Revue Starlight Such an underrated show, music and performances are top-tier, and who doesn't love a talking giraffe?

Jonathan Valeij

Imagine if there were an American version. Add hood drama. 🤣

Walt D

KyoAni suffered incredibly due to the arson attack, and even with that and their incredible series director Naoko Yamada leaving the studio they still managed to pull this off. It's not a perfect season. There could've been more performance scenes. But overall I am more than satisfied. KyoAni is my favourite studio ever and this series is by far their best in my opinion. The beautiful artwork, insane music, and loveable characters just make me feel so happy watching it. K-ON! was my first love in music anime, also by KyoAni and Naoko Yamada. I would recommend it but it is also more of a comedy set in a music club rather than a music focused anime. The music isn't really the focus but there are certainly some things that I think you could appreciate.

Yui

Anime of the year for me and its not close

Szayel H

As I mentioned previously You should also consider "Bang Dream It's myGo" since it won anime of the year and has amazing music imo

eyalmazuz

I would highly recommend Carole and Tuesday, same creator/director as Kids on the Slope and there’s like at least one new music piece every episode it’s insane

AussieBoy

Would be super psyched for Blue Giant, absolutely loved the manga

Martin Lamaze

As for other anime. Those Snow White Notes is an anime about the shamisen, which is awesome. Kono Oto Tomare is about the koto, a Japanese string instrument similar to a harp. I also really liked that one.

Alberto Munoz

One thing I didn't notice, but read in comments afterward. She has the hair clip on her clipboard. The one she asked Shuuichi to give her again if he still wanted to go out with her after they were done with the club.

Alberto Munoz

Thanks Tony so much for your reactions to this show and all the tangents and stories - it’s been a ride, and a wonderful one at that! Will miss having this weekly!

Andrew Muggleton

My recommendations for your next music-related anime would also be Nodame Cantabile, Carole and Tuesday, or Girls Band Cry, but I'd also like to throw Kono Oto Tomare! Sounds of Life into the mix.

Joe Chan

Then you will love this. This whole season was a flashback. The desk in the first ep of season 3 is her desk.

Jc

So Here is a super fun fact. Go rewatch the first minutes or so of the first ep of this season. The desk they showed in ep1 of this season is actually her desk! This whole season was a flashback.

Jc

Ep 12? 🤔

Alex James

Not particularly a series, but I recommend eventually doing a reaction to Blue Giant, a really great anime jazz movie. Other than that, I also recommend Girls Band Cry, Nodame Cantabile, Carole and Tuesday, and Zombie Land Saga.

Kinrenka

Another music anime like Hibike Euphonium... I daresay there is none.

LewdProxy

I would recommend a Macross series but the franchise isn’t available in the US yet and I don’t know if it technically qualifies as music anime. Disney + will have multiple Macross series on their platform this year and I would suggest looking into them when they’re made available. Especially Macross Delta.

Sarai

He updated is on the patreon discord : He is busy teaching but will eventually get to it

Kegs

I don’t think he forgot to watch ep12 I think he simply forgot to upload it. Otherwise he definitely would have been confused in this ep.

Parampreet Singh

Gilrs Band Cry

SungDripWoo

Music Anime Suggestion Girls Band Cry

d_takada18

Agreed on Nodame Cantabile - looking at a show from the college music major perspective, and then what happens after graduation from college, trying to find work as a professional musician, would be great for Tangent Tony time!

Roosp

weve had highschool music anime, a music college one would be a nice variety : Nodame Cantabile , MC wants to be a conductor, big tangent tony potential

Kegs

I'm such a sucker for a final episode with a big flashback sequence and this is one of the best. Such a perfect finale!

JoeyGuy7

Earlier in the show it’s mentioned that the piece they play was written by the composer after they spent a year in the countryside with their father, and each movement corresponds to a season. I think it’s awesome that during the performance the flashbacks that showed up corresponded to the season of that movement

alberbach47

You skip Episode 12.

Luis Arispe

Ah ok. I haven’t been part of polls for long

Sarai

It's pretty important since the studio, ever since that's happened has been pretty silent about it and they don't really want to talk about it. But to see some of those people that worked on the show along with other staff now in this show, It really means a lot to a lot of people.

Jc

Both not music anime, this is the slot for music anime.

Klarin Black

Did u skip ep 12? lol

Peacock

If you want to react to another music anime, I suggest Carole and Tuesday. It is made by the same creator as Kids on the Slope. It’s like an anime version of America’s Got Talent.

Mohamed

People only realize this as one of the members of the production committee Mentioned on Twitter that all of them were there and I hope they see this from the sky. After she mentioned this, people started looking into it and noticed that those faces were similar and now knew why they were drawn so clearly.

Jc

Sorry, I can't find episode 12 of Sound! Euphonium S3. Where can I watch it?

석화 김

So a couple episodes ago I mentioned how the last ep is really special. Not due to the ending of the anime , but turns out during the award ceremony/concert people in the audience were members of the staff who died during the twenty nineteen arson attack thay killed 36 people at kyoto animation studio one.

Jc

Big recommend for Keep Your Hands off Eizouken. It's about high schoolers getting started in animation. Not music, but similar themes about art

JoeyGuy7

LINK CLICK Spy x Family (if you want something wholesome to watch)

Sarai

I would suggest girls band cry. it is from the legendary studio Toei animations which made animes like Dragon Ball, one piece or Sailor Moon. girls band cry is one of the latest works from the studio and has received very good reviews and the music is great

Ryuk

Ono, I hope you didn’t forget 12, one of the best if not the best ep in the series

古河渚

Wait wasn't there an episode before this? Episode 12 was definitely missed

andoryuguen

Carol and tuesday Next ? 😁

Logan H

I think you skipped episode 12
