Development Update

Quick update as part of the Hippolyta storyline to set up the Wonder Woman content introduced some major bugs during testing. We're going to push out an update with the Wonder Woman content, as well as pause September charges due to the delay and as the team heads back to school.

The game needs simplification and rework beyond what we've done so far. We understand it's hard to figure out storyline and progress.. So we're going to take this time to step back and take a fresh look and revisit all the feedback we've gotten over the last several months.

Development Update - Next Release

Bug Fixes and Online Link

Some fixes that deal with:

  • Meeting Raven in the Cafe
  • Bugged Lexcorp events that need to be reworked. We've taken them out as this section we're redoing for the next release.
  • Batgirl combat and strapon events.

Along with the Mega Link that just contains the HTML, also trying to resurrect the Neocities hosting site. It's slow, but convenient so we're going to try to go the hosted route going forward. There may be missing images so be warned.

AH 22.1 Bug Fix - HTML Only

HTML Only Bugfix. Just download the HTML file below, and place it in the directory where you previously extracted the game and the previous HTML file resides. This release fixes two bugs:

  • Broken Link/typo in the intro dialogue when Circe is addressing the player.

Change Notes

We're building out the interactive system for animations. Game mechanics were explained in the walkthrough posted earlier today. This release is our first pass but we're continuing to work on transitioning between different animations.

Around 20 new animations are in this release along with new pictures.

There are still some legacy pictures that need to be replaced, especially with Allison and Debbie.

LexCorp map has been changed as it fits more into the future game mechanics.

A lot of content has been moved around and some of the story was removed due to the rewriting. Breast Expansion for beta will be moved into the LexCorp and Zatanna rescue storylines as Circe has other evil plans afoot.

May Development Update

Happy belated May the 4th! 

We're going through and updating almost the entire game. The current state is something that is a cobbled together jumble of different developers and helpers that have worked on the project, many of whom have moved on. Now that we have a more stable team, and have more time, we're working on creating a tighter game with a more solid foundation: 

  • We've updated and started testing the massage scenes with Granny
  • Batgirl apartment scenes have been redone as well to make it more interactive. 
  • Depending on how the above content goes, we'll also add in some more content around dreams and TV watching to make those pieces less repetitive.

Next Month:

  • Lex Corp content needs a major overhaul as we've changed the storyline. This will likely take a few months due to the scale and direction we want to take it, but we'll start in June.
  • The Zatanna quest also needs to be updated due to Harley Quinn playing a role there
  • Choosing to establish a more friendly relationship with Harley at the bank, then again at Lex Farm will put her on the path of becoming your ally. In the big picture this will have repercussions down the road, but for now that path will offer the most interesting content.
  • Time willing we'll put together a walkthrough
  • Patreon graphics and webpage are overdue for an update

July:

  • The plan for July is to flesh out the Wonder Woman/Hippolyta/Circe storyline
  • Intro content for other heroines and villains such as Poison Ivy, Hawkgirl, Starfire

Future plans in no particular order or timeframe:

  • Right now patrols are limited to Midtown with Joker's Gang having control of that area of Gotham.  The plan is to have at least two more main areas of Gotham controlled by other villains allowing for separate side quests and encounters and main story branches.
  • Choosing an area to focus on to clean up will offer opportunities to ally with different heroes and villains.
  • Corruption will play more of a  role allowing for the transition from hero to villain.
  • And speaking of transitions, down the road it will be possible for characters on the beta path to fully transition to female.

Altered Heroines 0.21 Alpha

New release! Yes! Finally!

Entire intro has been rewritten and the beginning story has been reorganized:

  • Alpha and Beta paths still exist but Beta path is triggered by taking the pill. 
  • Allison images have been mostly replaced into a more believable, older MILFier character.
  • Combat has been redone and made less complicated. There will be more tweaks but the focus will be on simplicity and to make it more of a minigame.
  • Evening patrols have been added. This will also trigger the side story quests. Right now there are just two. Joker Bank Robbery and then the follow up LexFarms which was in the previous release.
  • Trinity and Hailey characters have been merged in the story for simplicity.
  • Various bug fixes, image fixes, and model replacements.

Outstanding bugs

  • Not all images have been replaced yet.
  • Storylines need to be re-written to match up with the new intro.
  • Test markers and debugging text need to be removed in various places

It should be easier for us now to start to roll out quicker smaller releases to fix nagging issues and progression. Game is somewhat to sprawling right now for what's currently there. On the development list are:

  • Rewriting Granny Lin events
  • Rewriting Batgirl events - convert to minigame
  • Eliminate LexCorp as a separate map and streamline the internship encounters.
  • Add more patrol variations
  • Add additional JLA Arena variations
  • Add patrol focused on different parts of the city thereby running into different gangs. This allows the character to 'clean up' or 'control' the city depending on their whims.

After the above are mostly fixed we can continue to add on more side quests and progress with the storyline.

.21 Development

Apologies for the delay. Besides the global drama that has impacted all of us including the team members, we've been working to make various design changes to the game to make it more playable:

  • Making combat simpler.
  • Rewriting the initial story to simplify the beta/alpha path progression
  • Updating the models/graphics for many of the scenes
  • Updating the game for replayability such as teaming up with different factions and heroines will give different scenes and endings.
  • Adding more of the alpha path/corruption content

We've started to rework the game so the character icons show up in areas where there are events. This is ongoing but our goal is to eliminate random content where it leads to story advancement and put a quest link for when the player is ready to advance that part of the story.

We've also tried to eliminate as many bugs as possible. As well as add:

  • More quests to the quest system to point people in the right direction.
  • Coffee Shop is in where you can meet Raven.
  • Minor tweaks to Lexcorp
  • Added additional missing images - clothing still needs tweaking.
  • As stated above, added more context to Gotham Map to point you in hte right direction in regards to content.

We've been getting a lot of feedback on gameplay and as we've mentioned we're going to be spending the next few releases modifying the gameway to do the following:

  • Allowing a full female option early on.
  • Focus more on the collection/capturing of villains
  • Main scenes should have both a villany and heroic scene which show different content.

.20 Development Update

We've been working diligently on the bugs and the next release will focus mostly on fixing reported issues.

An updated .20 alpha build is being tested and an update was just uploaded to the Neocities site for those with Sentinel access, and we're currently working through the Coffee Shop (Raven's Hangout)  which was pushed from the last update to this .

We've also added different missing images and have quashed most of the combat bugs although a few still are present.

We'll probably try again to give general access to current builds on the Neocities site, although the large image size is always going to be an issue.

Updates

Working hard on the next update and we're looking into some of the minor bugs that have been reported. Some highlights we're trying to squeeze in:

  •  Patrols/Fights
  • WW Arena fight

  • Beginning of Stargirl storyline

Most of the images for the above are done, just working on the writing/coding.

Also looking to update the neocities site so as we update you don't have to download a package. The reason why we moved away from neocities is that the pictures/webm take time to download and we got a lot of complaints. But we'll try this again with flashing red letters that if you want to reduce lag we recommend downloading the offline version.

17.01 - Fix Only

This update fixes a few bugs:

  • Unable to proceed during one path for the Zatanna quest.
  • Dead End during a missing random Gotham Event
  • Typos and other small fixes

Just so everyone is aware, the back arrow within Twine is enabled so if there is a random event which is triggering wrong, you can hit that back button to go backward in the game history to get around the buggy random event. Again, it should be fixed now.

The link below is to the fix only. You will need to download the 17.0 file for the images if you haven't already. Just put this html file in the same directory as the 17.0 html file and you'll be good to go.

AH 17.0 (Yes Finally)


So there are a few outstanding bugs but I know I can't wait anymore so here it is and we're going to try to make up the lost ground.

Updates and Changes:

  • You can define Allison and Debbie's relationship to you at the beginning.
  • Rewritten intro storyline. New intro protagonist.
  • Lots of updated images including images for the paper doll system.
  • Wardrobe system - this is buggy but should give you a good preview. Basically change your shirt if you want for now. Obviously what you're wearing won't be exactly what the scene pictures show, but we're big fans of dress up and cosplay so wanted to give people that option for fun.
  • LexCorp Introduction: You work as an intern at LexChem on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Right now there isn't much going on other than getting locked in chastity.
  • Allison employs a maid. This may lead to secondary employment for you...
  • More random JLA content involving the bathroom. Invite Raven over sometime for extra content at home.
  • Zatanna quest is complete Alpha and Beta options. If you want extra breast expansion its recommended that you trigger the gender machine in Circe's lab first.


General Gameplay notes:

  • The easiest way to trigger content is by refreshing in the main areas (Home, JLA, Gotham City).
  • Over time there will be lots of random events to encourage multiple play throughs.

There's a good chunk of content written with images done but it's not set to trigger in game yet because of testing and I really didn't want to be more of an ass as I'm already coming across as so I made the call to release as is and I'll hopefully flip some switches to get a decent update with content and fixes up in the next few days.

A good chunk of story and content is already done for the next major release as well so barring any other world catastrophes that messes up the lives of our team again, I'm hoping we can steam roll through some good stuff and make all of you proud of us again.

Next release is coming soon. We're on updating the story, adding all the content we can, and making the mechanics more playable. AH 16.01

We're still working through a lot of bugs as we try to move content over to Twine but the 16.01 release is below.

Added content:

  • Initial feminization content: This is accessed after Circe's visit to Allison in Circe's lab. The path is open but there will need to be a patch released to fully enable it showing up properly on the side menu. 
  • Redid different images. Added missing images.
  • Batgirl battle.  Added a 'Surrender' button since the battle code is still buggy but should allow you to easily see the 'defeat' content. There are three scenes that build upon one another. Fighting WW has been taken out of this release.
  • Event generator is being reworked. It was extremely buggy and should trigger content in a reasonable time now. Additional work is still on our to do list.
  • News Stories. Watching TV with Allison will trigger content with DA Inari Jones and Stargirl in future releases.
  • Beginning of Zatanna storyline. This currently ends the story for this release.

 Known bugs:

As mentioned, we're still trying to get our feet underneath us from losing what we had already fixed over break to try to redo a lot of existing code we aren't fond of. We're also rewriting parts of the story from the old release.

  • Batgirl's Apartment bugs still exist and haven't been fixed.
  • Granny Lin's code hasn't been touched and we will focus on this down the road as part of a larger rewrite of her storyline. 
  • Event system is still buggy, you may have to refresh the page to progress.
  • Combat system is buggy. While we did fix the variable reset, there are bugs that pop up from time to time that require a refresh or going back.

15.99 Alpha

Unfortunately I had lost more of the story than I thought and got caught in some analysis paralysis trying to scramble to get the story moving as well as fitting the combat code. I'm releasing the 15.99 Alpha which contains a dev link right after the character creation screen  at the top.

You'll be able to battle Batgirl, grope her, shark her and see a defeat and win scene. I'm working to get back on track with the story and incorporating the content I've created with the story to move everything forward. You may have to hit the restart button on the side if you try the battle a few times as I still need to add some variable reset code. 

There's also an option that let's you keep fighting instead of ending the battle which will be removed once i put the battle scene in the arena proper.

Quick status update

We got delayed because the laptop the updated build was on had a failure. Luckily everything is backed up but we did lose a day of fixes. Going to wrap it up in between studying for finals and get the current build out as soon as possible.

 We're going to stick to just developing the story for the .17 release since the holidays are going to be crazy which should avoid any major bugs from introducing new code.

AH 16 Status Update

We're doing a couple of run throughs before we publish the link and test that things are working correctly.

Main feature for this release is that arena combat has been totally reworked to utilize the skill system. Balancing will be needed in upcoming releases but you'll be able to get a sense of where we're going with the system.

Also added a couple of additional story events including the beginning of the Zatanna kidnapping quest and a Vampire themed questline.

AH Development Update

Wanted to check in with a quick update of where we're currently at.  The focus this week has been on animations and graphics for the JLA as well as some graphics for the first transformation for the beta route. 

Combat

Combat is going to be somewhat similar to how it was in the RPGMV version. You'll start out with some intro perverted moves, or you can just fight using your brawl skill.  Your shield skill will sponge damage, and mind control will have various effects as you level it.

Opponents clothes will take damage, although due to the time it takes to render animations, there will only be two initial states for your opponents, clothed and topless.

Barring any major bugs, we'll be on track to release an alpha to the Sentinel Tier in another week. 

Current Bugs

Also we're fixing the bugs we saw reported in the comments and will try to push out fixes to the web version in the upcoming week.


Upcoming Content

As previously mentioned, combat for the Arena should be in for BG and WW with the combat as it is now being totally rewritten. More of the story will be fleshed out around why the player is helping Circe. Initial transformation scenes will be written and quest for the player to hunt down the origins of the eldritch energy will start.

If we have time, we really want to squeeze in the Zatanna quest. We've updated her mesh and textures so she'll have a bit of a different look now.

Quick Guide and Walkthrough 

What's new?

  • New Maps:  Clickable maps are now present in all the main areas for navigation. A character face will show up in a map area if they are there to interact with.
  • New Content: This release focuses mainly on content and triggered events at home. You can also see additional content on your home computer.
  • Statuses and Skills: Skills and Stats are going to continue to be balanced over the next few releases.  These will be important for combat and to trigger additional content. Currently you can see status at your computer at home, and some of this functionality will be integrated into your watch to check on things as you're on the go. In the future the static pictures will be converted in to gif/webm animations that better depict the ally or villain affection and corruption.

Outstanding/Known Issues

Images: Still reworking Circe's images. Additional missing images will be included with the next update.

Triggered Events: Visiting Allison at night and then going to bed may not make the next day's events trigger. Also watching videos on the computer until the next day and not going to bed will have the same effect. 


Next update will focus on JLA and add more to the backstory of how the hero obtained the powers. This last month focused more on redoing large parts of the code and working on the combat. We'll put that mostly on hold for two weeks and get more story built out. Looking to have another Patreon update the week of Nov 18th and will try to do releases in 2-3 week iterations through the holidays.

Upcoming Tier Rewards Changes

A big reason why we wanted to move to Twine was the accessibility we could offer our supporters. 

We're adding a few things to the existing tiers coming in November.

  • Patrons will be able to access the newest monthly build online through a hosting service so they don't have to download files locally. 
  • $5 Patrons will get access to a hosted site containing a more frequently updated development build where new features and content are being tested. 
  • $5 patrons will still have access to the image repository, but with the game moving to Twine, the ability to download the images and videos exists for everyone anyway. Bonus pictures and videos will still be exclusive to the repository.
  • Public builds will also be hosted online in the future.
  • Monthly Patreon Builds as well as Public builds will still be provided as a zip file to be downloaded locally.

We still encourage people to download the monthly release if they can due to bandwidth issues as we still need to optimize many of the pictures and .gif files. Upcoming releases will see us favor webm over gif files unless there are major compatibility issues with the user base.

Patrons will continue to have early access, with Public builds being released approximately a month behind.

Also as an aside, we're attempting to have an accelerated schedule as we go into the holiday season as the last few weeks of the year will be busy for the team. We'll be publishing what our development sprints will be focused on and anticipated release dates. We're hoping to squeeze in an extra release in the last few months. We are re-rendering and animating a few of the scenes which is taking some time but we're making good progress.

AH Development Update

Currently on roadmap for the 0.15 release:

  • Updating Circe images: new character mesh and textures
  • Home events and corruption: a gift from Circe will allow for triggering additional events at home and room content 
  • Heroine interaction: a few more somewhat tame events at JLA
  • Combat Preview: the basic combat system is built out. Shield, telekinesis and mind control will all work in tandem. Different Villains will have different levels of protection against your powers so just focusing on one area will be problematic long term. There are additional features such as the xp system that need to be integrated but we'll likely at least replace the prologue battle scene with the new system so you can get a flavor for the system.

Altered Heroines 14.13

Barring anything earth shattering, this will likely be the last bugfix for this build and we'll spend the next week or so focused on adding in new content.

Current release:

  • Fixed the bug where character gets stuck in Saturday afternoon after hero chooses to just give Allison the cream without using hypno.
  • Added in a bunch of background images. Hopefully there should be almost zero broken links now.
  • Aesthetic changes to the stylesheet. This will be ongoing - changing colors and styles and the UI.
  • Added in checks for video support. Webm videos look better and for the animations we do, are smaller than exporting to a gif file.  Unless there are major support issues, we're going to start working the old webm animations into the story and create new ones.

Future Releases:

  • Next build will focus on building out home events and some minor events at Circe's Lab.
  • A new area, the University will be added which will then lead into getting the Job at LexCorp.
  • Since we actually started doing the art for this game a few years ago, we've been wanting to change some characters and renders for a while now. First up we're doing test renders for a whole new Circe model and will see if it makes sense to switch her out.
  • We're also working on a combat system which will be integral to the play of the game.  Initial thinking is we'll likely roll out pieces then add on as we go.

14.12 Bugfix

We're attempting to address immediate concerns with this release and will post a longer development post later on.

Some key notes:

  • Integrated the Gotham City Map from MV which is clickable. If you can't click a named area then it hasn't been opened up yet. Stargirls Apartment is one example.
  • A lot of backend code was modified or removed. This included reverting to the 5 time intervals that were in MV vs the 7 in the previous release. 
  • Some dialogue was added in as well as the chance to receive the necklace based on choices you made in the prologue. 
  • You can grope Allison at night now.
  • Clothing system being reworked. You can see what your character is wearing on the side now in the meantime.
  • Missing images were added in, probably still a few out there but shouldn't be any important content, just scenery/background images.
  • You shouldn't get stuck in a room anymore. While testing earlier on, we noticed, very rarely, some of the code didn't seem to fully load which caused a blank screen. Happened maybe 2 or 3 times, couldn't replicate, but if you do get stuck use the back button within the Twine game to go back and do something else. 
  • Want to reiterate that we took out and moved a ton of stuff. 14.13 which we're currently working on is changing even more. This will be buggy so if you want a more stable release please hold off, but it will be better than the last release ;)
