Oh that makes more sense

Small correction, he didn’t beat “god” he just “ordered” or as he said “requested” And it’s natural that you don’t like the idea because the idea or concept of “god” in the east is completely different from most other places, as they call the mere “consciousness of humans” as god, which a lot of people might see as weird.

Have to agree with u on this. When I watched it for the first time my level of media literacy was very low so I didn’t even think any differently bout this scene. But if I remember correctly this is the last “supernatural” centered episode. After this it is just code geass

You know it's the end of the show when they throw metaphysical mumbo jumbo at you

Yeah, it's super hard to follow. In this episode, for example, Charles and Marianne talk about eliminating lies and creating a gentle world, but there's nothing concrete about what will actually happen. So it's hard to get why it's bad. Lelouch mentions it meaning a stagnant world where time doesn't pass, but they never say that. So it sounds like everyone's just making things up, and it's hard to get invested. I also like the series. But I like it the most when it's still smaller scale, as I mentioned.

I personally enjoyed it (including these last few episodes of the series), but can also understand why not everyone would be on board with the story developments, presentation, or other shortcomings.

That’s one thing I agree on despite really liking this anime. The supernatural aspect was hard for me to follow and even now in other CG animated works it’s the same thing. I guess it’s a good thing the supernatural stuff wasn’t forced into the actual ending of the story, the OG ending.

Sarai

I’ve always found it poetic how we started out with Lelouch and Suzaku as they slowly drift apart only to have it all end with both of them taking the entire world by storm. We’ve finally reached the climax and sorry to say the twists won’t stop till the very end; same can be said for the heartbreaking moments. I like how they mislead us in thinking the emperor would be the main antagonist; they kept the big bad hidden pretty well 👀

Sarai

I usually want stories to explain everything. But Code Geass falls so flat on its face when it gets deep into the supernatural elements that I kind of wish they didn't bother. It's so much more compelling early on when it's just Lelouch being able to mind control people, and you don't know the nature of his power, but you don't worry about it too much. Because the meat of the story is what he uses the power for and what happens as a result. I wish it could have stayed at that smaller scale.

You make a very good point. Being able to digest information is necessary for good storytelling. With how many characters this story has, it can be overwhelming.
