Rin's Birthday 2025

February 3rd is Tohsaka Rin’s special day, and every year, I like to do something fun to celebrate~ Usually, I’m a bit too shy to share, but this time, I thought, why not take you all on a date with Rin? It’s been ages since I last baked a cake, as art has completely taken over my free time lately, but I couldn’t resist making one for the occasion.

For this year’s celebration, I also put together a little experiment I’ve been wanting to try for a while. Bringing anime girls into real life has been on my mind for some time, so I combined 2D with 3D, illustration, and photography to bring my love for Rin into reality.

A couple of years ago, I started getting into photography, and surprisingly, it has helped me improve my art a lot. Bit by bit, my renders have become more influenced by photography, my shading has become more blended, and I’ve started incorporating grain, chromatic aberration, and other photographic effects to my artwork. Maybe this is even more noticeable when my art is placed against a real photo as the background.

The background is part of my workspace, so it’s basically where I spend my days working on art. I also included a simple background version so you can appreciate Rin’s figure without any distractions. Oh, and as a bonus, I did a fun draw vs. cosplay comparison. Hope you enjoy this experiment as much as I enjoyed making it~
