Checkup Blues: Update #5 – Final stretch

Welcome back, fellow taboomaniacs!
Great news! Checkup Blues is now fully animated from start to finish! 4 minutes and 50 seconds of animated Linda-oogling will soon be ready for your viewing! As usual, I've provided a not very telling gif. I still want to keep the more explicit stuff secret until release, but at least now there's not very much left until you finally get to see it all.
Today I want to talk in detail about what remains and give you an update on the release window now that I have a clearer picture of the situation.

Final stretch

The animation is currently fully rendered up until about 3:25, leaving another 1:25 left to render which will take some time. My computer is currently in full crunch mode, rendering frames 24/7. It has rendered just over 2 seconds(50-60 frames) every 24 hours on average, which according to the maths is a pretty tight fit for a december release, though still doable as I'm looking for ways to optimize render times as I go. The downside of this crunch is that the full quality rendering effectively locks me out from doing much else on this pc apart from surfing the web every now and then, meaning that clipping and sound will have to wait for now. Once the rendering is done, I can get back to editing as well as ironing out a couple of things that may cause some minor delays:

Taking all of this into account, I think a December release might ultimately be difficult, but not unfeasible. With that, I estimate that the Patreon release of Checkup Blues will be either in the last week of December or the first week of January. A worst case scenario would be the second week of January, I think.

This will be the last major update on this project before release, but I am likely to give you guys a quick status update as we draw closer to let you know how things are going, so keep your eyes peeled. Not much left now!

Thank you all for your unwavering patience!

Thank you for the kind words, it really warms my heart! Checkup blues is sort of a spiritual successor to Locker room lust, once again exploring how Linda deals with the world. If you were hoping for something similar, I'd say you're on the right track!

Have to humbly take my hat off to your dedication to this endeavor. After reading your post about the gradual development of the beautiful Linda over time, to be able to bring her on stage for this latest piece must feel DEEPLY rewarding to you as the artist. Locker Room Lust is still coming up in my mind as one of the most subtly off guard catching works I’ve seen, perfectly showing a set of emotions it can’t be easy to effectively convey...so seeing her here again leaves something to be tremendously looked forward to. Completely cheering you on guy!

You hit the nail on the head! I quite like the whole silent characters thing I've been going with, and the concept has always worked well with short films, so I want to stick with it. It just depends on how well I can tell the story silently, but practice makes perfect!

There is ambient sound, but no voices. The whole thing actually has a very minimalistic sound design, but it fits quite nicely and should be pleasant to listen to! Like Angelo below me points out, it's hard to do the voices any justice. I prefer the characters to stay silent like the rest of my works and leave the rest to your imagination

Little ambient sounds would be nice but no voices. I, probably like the creator, have a particular idea of what Linda sounds like in our head. The amount of time and effort to find someone to trick our ears and mind into believing it does her justice isn't worth the hassle this time around... If ever.

Looking very much forward to the full release. Will you be adding any sounds and/or voices to this?
