Gradually, the bluish-purple bruises on Chen Xiao’s face faded, returning to his usual appearance. However, the poison from the venomous viper had inflicted serious damage, leaving him pale and weak.
Xi Yunqing’s clothes were soaked with sweat from the effort, and Chen Xiao’s body was dampened by it as well. Seeing the improvement, Xi Yunqing carefully covered Chen Xiao, then got up to change into a fresh set of clothes. He even changed Chen Xiao into a clean set of undergarments, clothes he himself had never worn.
With the poisonous energy subsiding, Chen Xiao no longer felt as icy cold as before. But once the warmth was gone, he curled up instinctively, still not quite comfortable. Xi Yunqing’s heart ached at the sight. The environment was harsh, making recovery difficult. So he slipped back under the covers to continue warming Chen Xiao, though the heat was much less intense now, and he no longer sweated so heavily.
The soft, silky fabric of the underclothes was familiar, yet somehow seeing it on Chen Xiao stirred restless emotions within Xi Yunqing. He looked down at the obedient figure nestled in his arms, his chest tightening with feeling. Carefully, he tightened his embrace and lowered his head, resting his cheek against Chen Xiao’s slightly warm skin.
The fragile walls around his heart shattered completely in that moment, overwhelmed by softness and warmth. What had been bottled-up feelings now surged forth uncontrollably. Xi Yunqing longed to meld Chen Xiao into his very being, never to be separated again, never to see him suffer or be hurt.
He wasn’t sure when his feelings changed, or how this desire took root. He tried to suppress it, but failed utterly. The helplessness frustrated him deeply. His chest swelled with emotions for his younger brother, leaving him lost and unsure how to cope.
At the moment he acknowledged these feelings, he was grateful Chen Xiao couldn’t see the helplessness etched on his face. That relief made him feel ashamed, even disgraceful.
Chen Xiao trusted him so completely as an older brother, yet here he was, harboring such disrespectful thoughts. How could he ever make this right? His heart felt gripped by an invisible hand, squeezing so tightly that Xi Yunqing struggled to breathe.
He lingered, pressing his cheek to Chen Xiao’s neck. Then, trembling slightly, he placed a deep, lingering kiss just below his throat, leaving a faint pink mark.
Xi Yunqing cared for Chen Xiao with utmost dedication, worried he couldn’t maintain his body temperature on his own. He held him close to warm him through the night until Chen Xiao awoke. At dawn, he gave Chen Xiao a potent spirit pill, normally reserved for near-death situations, to sustain him.
After taking the pill, Chen Xiao’s poisoned and weakened body recovered significantly. His bodily functions regained vitality, and his brain shifted from a foggy haze into a more active sleep state. The warm, comforting environment made him want to sigh softly in relief. The solid, responsive body beside him heightened his brain’s sensory response even further.
Though still groggy, Chen Xiao was tightly bound in Xi Yunqing’s powerful arms, chest pressed against chest, legs entwined. The pressure was like skin pressed to skin, triggering his body’s memory to unconsciously generate vivid sensations.
Their bodies intertwined closely, soothing and caressing each other. The pleasant textures made Chen Xiao’s heart race and his skin break into a light sweat. What had begun as mutual support suddenly shifted as Xi Yunqing’s movements turned more assertive. He bit gently into Chen Xiao’s neck, rendering him limp and unable to resist.
His legs were firmly trapped between other body’s, and with his neck controlled and chest heavily pressed, Chen Xiao felt an overwhelming sensation of helplessness, unable to escape, forced to surrender to the other’s will beneath him.
Soft, breathy sounds escaped from Chen Xiao’s nostrils, gentle yet urgent. His brows furrowed slightly, caught between discomfort and pleasure. He pressed closely against Xi Yunqing’s body, arms wrapped around him. Heat spread through his body, flushing his pale cheeks with a faint blush. The once-quiet space between their closely pressed bodies gradually stirred.
At that moment, Xi Yunqing’s mind went blank. When he finally realized that Chen Xiao’s restless dreams were caused by the lingering effects of the medicine, excess energy with nowhere to vent, he wasn’t sure how to react.
In his sleep, Chen Xiao was restless and uneasy. Worried that this would further weaken his already fragile body, Xi Yunqing decided to help him find relief quickly. Gently lifting himself, he used one leg to hold down Chen Xiao’s lower body, preventing any sudden movements. With a tender touch, he reached out, and Chen Xiao’s tightly furrowed brow relaxed, letting out soft, comfortable breaths.
This broke Xi Yunqing’s restraint. His body stirred restlessly, pressing close to Chen Xiao’s hips as he lowered his head, planting gentle kisses along his ear and neck.
After the soothing moment, Chen Xiao’s body finally settled, his expression peaceful as he slipped into a deep sleep. When he truly woke, it was already midday.
Blinking open his eyes, Chen Xiao was momentarily disoriented, unsure where he was. As his awareness returned, his complexion instantly brightened with relief. Hastily, he threw off the covers to check for any mess. To his surprise, the clothes on his body were neat and clean.
But he didn’t relax, these were not the clothes he’d worn before, and in fact, they weren’t even his.
Conflicted, Chen Xiao covered his face, feeling embarrassed. Dreaming was one thing, but to have such a chaotic dream, and with his big brother, no less, how was he supposed to face him now?
He didn’t know if his brother had changed his clothes because he’d dirtied them, or if his injuries had left him too weak to make a mess in his sleep. All he could do now was hope for the latter. Otherwise, he’d be utterly mortified.
In his previous life, his poor health meant that not only was intimate connection rare, even self-exploration was infrequent. Now, in this new body, when his energy was strong, he occasionally indulged, though after learning body techniques from Xi Yunqing, even that happened less.
Perhaps that was why he had such dreams. Chen Xiao sighed ruefully. He really was too healthy and too young.
“Brother Xiao, you’re awake?” Xi Yunqing’s voice came into the room.
Startled, Chen Xiao quickly composed his expression. Looking up at him and seeing no unusual reaction, he breathed a sigh of relief. “Big brother, thank goodness you arrived in time.”
Xi Yunqing frowned and said, “It was a close call. You were in serious danger.”
Chen Xiao smiled playfully. “I only thought that since the venomous viper was barely alive and weakened, if I couldn’t even handle a beast like that, then there was no point in going out to train.”
Xi Yunqing couldn’t blame him. After all, Chen Xiao was on the path of cultivation, and such risks were inevitable. He crouched down in front of him and held up his hand, showing him something. “The viper’s venom gland... but unfortunately, it shattered.”
Chen Xiao chuckled. “I’m just glad I killed the viper. You can handle that gland however you want.”
Xi Yunqing thought for a moment. “Alright. There’s an uncle in my sect skilled in refining artifacts. I’ll have him melt down the venom gland to forge a magical weapon for you.”
