Hello, hello! Another monday, another dev blog. We are nothing if not consistent!
So! Last friday we made our public release and it went better than our wildest expectations! Thank you so much to everyone that took the time to play our game, and a special thank you to everyone that gave us feedback on the game! We are really happy with the reception the game had, and it put an even bigger fire into us! We are really excited to work even harder on the game, to make it bigger, better, faster and lewder!
We would also like to welcome all the new followers that we received over the weekend and to thank all the new patrons that have joined us on this journey. Words fail us to tell you all how grateful we are for your generous support, especially in these trying times. So buckle up! You are in for a wild ride!
Now! Let’s finally get into last week’s work!
Banshee spent a bit of her week doing some finishing touches on some visual aspects of the game she was not quite satisfied with. Then she spent some time getting the promo for the public release ready. She was also the one behind posting everything on our social media and since she has the social skills of a potato that was a bit hard for her!
That done, she immersed herself with her favorite task, designing new characters! I won’t spoil too much here, but she has finished the initial art for the eldritch babe Yda and she just finished the angel, Sigrid. You can see Yda at our twitter page or on our discord server, Sigrid will be posted soon, and shortly after that we will be bringing them here for a death battle- I mean… A poll to decide which one will be added to the game first!
Vane spent a good part of the week working on the public build. A few very obscure bugs were found on our Patreon build and he worked hard on ironing all of those out, he also added animations for the main menu and implemented the feedback we had received from the patron release, like having a message to warn that you had reached the end of the build.
That done, he had to set up the Itch.io page and test the game until he couldn’t stand looking at it anymore! He took the time to go over the text one more time and improve some parts that he was still not satisfied with.
The last few days he spent writing while answering to as much feedback as he could. He also had to scramble his ass to provide a Mac build on short notice, and give the game proper windowed mode support since those were requested by some of you!
Now! With the release mostly behind us, we can devote our attention fully back to developing the next chapter of the game. We have a lot planned and we want to have it done as quickly as possible so we will be working around the clock to deliver the next build to you guys! As always, you can expect lots of previews and we want to be making more polls as well. We loved the feedback we got and we will be using it to guide ourselves in the development. So please! Don’t hesitate to tell us what aspects of the game you enjoyed the most and what kind of things you would like to see more of! And, of course, we welcome all feedback so do tell us what you disliked about the game as well.
Finally, we would like to thank all of our patrons from the bottom of our hearts. When we started this journey a few months ago we had a lot of doubts about the whole prospect. We couldn’t help but wonder if we shouldn’t just stay in our comfort zone, work in the industry, and forget all about this silly idea of making games that we can be proud of. But, your support is not only helping in financing us, but it also shows us that we made the right choice in pursuing this path!
We are both delighted and humbled that our game got so much positive feedback and the support of such great people. It really puts a fire into us to work even harder and make the game even better. So thank you all so much, we really do love you guys!
We hope you are all staying safe out there and that the pandemic is passing far away from you and your families. Have a great week, and as always, we will see you all next monday for another dev blog!
