Please Read: Cancelling Unclaimed Commissions Prior to Jan. 1st 2023
Added 2024-11-08 16:09:42 +0000 UTCHello, I’ve been crunching numbers and I’ve come to a bit of a depressing conclusion.
I probably have close to 150 Patreon commission slots to finish and a good chunk of them are never claimed. This means that people are sitting on them and waiting to cash in their commission slot. While that is understandable, a lot of time people will hold onto their commissions slots from back when I only shared $25 for a FULLY RENDERED COMIC.
Back then, a fully rendered comic would take me about an afternoon to complete but now they take me nearly 15+ hours. $25/hr for 15 hours is $1.67 per hour.
This is not sustainable. And it’s taken me a long time to realize this. I wish I had realized it sooner or I wouldn’t be in such work debt. So in order to solve this issue, I need to cancel all unclaimed Patreon commission slots that were purchased before Dec. 31st, 2022.
If you are someone with multiple slots, with some claimed and some unclaimed, this will only affect those that are unclaimed, meaning you have assigned no idea to them.
If you would like to quick claim any left over slots, you have until November 31st to confirm an idea with me. You can reach me through Discord or Telegram, please ask for my info through PMs. Please do not discuss your slot claim over Patreon PMs, it is difficult to keep track of.
Refunds:
As of right now, I cannot afford to refund commissions.
These were also Patreon purchases, meaning that included in the price were Patreon benefits such as voting in polls and access to exclusive content. I cannot refund those things. I am looking into offering compensation for the missing benefits (unclaimed commissions before the end of 2022)
I apologize for such a definitive decision, but I have been doing this for so long and I have been so lax with my practices that it only ends up hurting everyone.
I can’t open commissions with such an enormous queue, no one can get any commissions, I haven’t open Patreon commissions in almost 2 years.
Everything is in shambles because of my poor decisions and I need to start making some unfortunate calls before 2025 starts.

2024-11-09 01:18:22 +0000 UTCI think this is the right call. Even just mathematically, financially, it wouldn’t be fair to you. AND you’re giving people some time to still claim their slots. Honestly, someone "losing" $25 here, that shouldn’t be a big deal. It was a ridiculously low price for that; and you’ve shared so much to the community for free, you’ve given so much of yourself, I really hope no one complains about that or it would mean they don’t have their priorities straight. You’re a human, not a machine. I understand you’re not feeling good about this, and you think it’s all your fault, but it’s not. Maybe you’ve been lax with your practices, maybe you’ve made poor decisions, I can’t be the judge of that; but also, the world has very much been shit lately, and there’s only so much you can do right in this environment. Again, you’re a human, not a machine, you can and you will make mistakes, but those don’t happen in isolation of your life and of the world. Don’t give yourself all the credit for your screw-ups. I believe in you. I can’t say I believe everything is gonna go alright, that’s just not realistic, but I believe you’ll try. 💜
