Pokémon Dream Series Progression Poll #2

Results from the last Poll:

1:  Trainer Age (I think I need to clarify this one more)

2:  Female Companion #2 will have a relative from the Unova Elite 4.

3:  Our female gang will be roughing it out; no high-tech gear or family help with credits.  This is to see if they're ready to be adults and take on one of the hardest career paths, the path of a Pokémon trainer!

4:  Our male rivals and female protags will only run into each other every so often, allowing them to change rosters and train their Pokémon to have unique battles each time.

5:  The 6th Egg of our MC will hatch (not be given, but hatch) during the Silver League Challenge!  This means, our girls will have gone through 8 Bronze Badges (first round of Kanto, deciding to push forward to be trainers), and finished Johto's gyms to get 8 Silver Badges.

This means that if our girls finish the Silver League, they can take their team on to Kanto and/or Johto to get their Gold Badges to be veteran trainers!  By this point travel would be much faster.

Note:  I think I'll revise the Badge System so Gold-Tier trainers can travel outside their region.  It makes the most sense.  Platinum-Tier are still rising stars that are much more renown having beaten a Gold Cup (a lot of people enter these competitions and only a few can come out as gold trainers).

It's not 1 winner at these levels, but a cut-off point where if you make it into the main competitor tier list, then you can be seen as a gold-trainer, but those that win the cup get a lot more prizes (don't forget those credits ... Pokémon trainers always need that $$$  TMs, Items, and the like are not cheap!).

Pokémon And Humans Bonding/Soul Information:  So, this is a big part of the world that shapes much of the scene.  Humans didn't originate on the pokemon world but were brought there (pretty standard cannon pokemon lore).  From what earliest information given, humans go back at LEAST 30,000 years, and there were many technologies and devices that humans lost the knowledge of along the way.

For instance, Pokelantis, where the king managed to seal his spirit inside of a pokeball-shaped device (showing the type of form has long been in use).  I've done a lot of research on all of this.

Pokéballs:  Pokeball technology and the materials they're made out of acts as a medium that connects pokemon and trainer mind/spirit/body.  That's the reason people only have 6 pokemon out at a time is that a human 'spirit' cannot handle more.

Mega Evolution:  is also tied to the spiritual bond you share with your pokemon while Z-Move adds a more physical element to it.

In any case, Pokeballs act as a medium that bonds pokemon and trainer (strongly referenced in the anime many many times and why you cannot catch a pokemon that is bonded with a pokeball).  The charmander episode with Ash is yet another example, but I will take many of what is shown in the shows to another level.

If a pokemon is beat up, then the trainer also receives a form of linked physical drain.  If it's a super hard fight, then the trainer will really feel the stress of their six pokemon (not as strongly, but that's why six is the limit, too).

Legendary Pokemon:  The spirit can be a very big issue if you own an extremely strong Pokémon and your spirit hasn’t developed enough.  That’s why legendary Pokémon are dubbed such, because their spiritual pressure is extremely hard for one to acclimate to.  Frankly, most don’t have the ability.

Warnings:

Weak Spirit:  If you try to bond (capture) a pokemon that is very powerful (evolutions/stats/tons of moves (pokemon can use all their moves not just 4)) and if you don't have the spiritual fortitude, then your spirit will be crushed (brain dead, basically; turned into a vegetable).

Weak Physical/Spiritual/Mental Fortitude:  It doesn’t have to do with body strength, but physical fortitude.  You don’t need to be a bodybuilder to have physical fortitude and it can be built up through just leveling low-level Pokémon (why they start at the Bronze-Tier and work up with pokemon).

While if you have a weak spirit the Pokémon won’t listen to you or if you have a weak mental state your Pokémon will hesitate, not understanding your orders as they are fully linked to you.

This is also connected with your determination and drive.  You and your pokemon must be bonded, connected, and if you are not, then it harms the training overall.
The whole strict training and the master-slave deal make pokemon weaker.
Friendship-power/soul-bond power stuff, hehe.

New Poll:

Question 1:  Age Limit on Trainer Journey clarification.  So, this marks the age that a group of teens can go out in the world.  About 15 years before this point in time, the rules were much more lax, but after certain events, regulations and many governmental bodies started to be formed.

This means, many of these trainers' parents went out at like, ages 10 to 18, depending on whenever.  It was a more peaceful time before the Teams (gangs, terrorists, wars, etc.) happened that shook much of a world that had enjoyed peace for a fair bit of time.

This age will also tell me what you want out of this world.

16-year-olds:  Less experienced, more fun and jokey, but still carrying with them the (lighter) weight that Pokémon trainers are more meant as a national military corps than laughs and giggles.

Their relationships would be more teeny with the conflict of battles.

17-year-olds:  Bit more experienced with more time to study, still a bit of joking and fun, but understand the seriousness of the journey they're going on.  The relationships would be a bit more mature than the sixteen-year-olds.

18-year-olds:  Experienced and as ready as they can be to set off into the world.  They know a lot more about spending credits wisely and would be less sporadic and adventure-like as they're more focused on their own goals.

Relationships would be more mature, but it would take a bit to get past their initial dislike of each other because it's been a bit more ingrained with their parents and relatives having a bigger impact on the web and the family grudges are easier to overcome as kids don't really care about that crap.

Question 2:  What Starter do you want Companion #1 to have out of those five listed?

Question 3:  #2 Companion's Main Pokemon-Type Specialty.  Depending on who you choose, it will also shape her character and motivation.  Which specialty do you want her to go with?  She does not want to be seen as a copy.

Shauntal:  Ghost-type Grand Master.  She's between 19 and 25 years old.  5th strongest (active) trainer in Unova.  Opposite Typing would be:  Dark.

Marshal:  Fighting-type Grand Master.  He's between 29 and 34 years old.  4th strongest (active) trainer in Unova.  Opposite Typing would be:  Fairy, Flying, and Psychic.

Grimsley:  Dark-type Grand Master.  He's between 26 and 30 years old.  3rd Strongest (active) trainer in Unova.  Opposite Typing would be:  Bug, Fairy, and Fighting.

Caitlin:  Psychic-type Grand Master.  She's between 20 and 23 years old.  2nd Strongest (active) trainer in Unova.  Opposite Typing would be:  Bug, Dark, and Ghost.
