After being bombarded by rendering for a whole month, last week I decided to take a small break and do exercises not heavily relying on values. I'll resume doing paintings this week so don't worry, there will be at least one painting reward this month.
Months ago I had mentioned that I want to do more exercise of (sex) scene drawing; similar to comics, but focusing more on compositions and body language, and less worrying about the story and panel plans. After that post, more attempts were put to finalize those drawings, but I felt there were something missing. I always struggled to finalize them even though I'm okay with drawing everything in perspective.
Before doing anything further, I made a floor plan:
I'm not sure if there are more effective ways to make floor plans and if you do know, please share! I prefer drawing from above with perspective. (playing The Sims will help a lot) After the planning, I roughly drew random scenes from different camera angles to examine the result. I found it's better to just draw a room in a simple square/rectangle shape so it's easier to set cameras and not get blocked by walls. So the A plan is discarded. Instead of planning a nice room, I planned a cheap motel room in B and C (C is the fixed/simplified version of B). The cheap and dirty rooms fit better in this situation (especially for Dante).
Last week, I had an assumption that maybe I should not 'ink' my drawings. Ironically I've spent more than a decade made doujins, and still, the step of 'inking' has been the part made my drawings suffered the most. So I want to find an alternative way to finalize them. Here are some tests:
In these tests I kinda prefer E, but I want to make them more graphical. So here are two more (shameless) tests:
Graphical enough, but the first one took too much time to finish. The second one seems a bit more promising, taking less time and might be easier for more complex compositions. I'll make more tests of completed scenes this month if I have spare time. Thank you for watching 😘
