Starting the workday

Early this morning I sighted in my double barrel crossbow to get focused before starting an epic work day.
Engineering Ludus is finished. I just need to get the last few chapters edited.
After that, I'll be getting back to Delvers LLC 5 full time.

Animals move. There are lots of possibilities. A bad shot, or a complete miss where the animal stays still for some reason. The second bolt can also be good for a mercy kill if a shot went wrong, or hit a branch or whatever. It also takes a bit to load a modern crossbow, with winches and such. With two bolts loaded, a missed shot isn't necessarily the end of the hunt, or even a break. There are lots of reasons to have two bolts, and this crossbow is actually lighter (which is super surprising) than some of other comparable speed, single shot crossbows on the market.

2021-05-29 16:02:20 +0000 UTCIs there any real advantage to double barrel crossbow? (Asking legitimately) Do you ever actually manage to get a second shot on target?? I would have thought they’d either run away or be fairly dead by the time the first shot goes out. But then again I’ve never hinted with a crossbow 🤔
