Crazy times
Added 2020-03-25 12:16:48 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
I hope you are all staying safe. Melli and I have just moved, and I'm working right now using a camping chair, my laptop, and my phone as a hotspot. It's less than ideal.
Maybe I can share some pictures of the new place soon, like Patreon only stuff about building stuff for writing research? We have some land now...and a well...in a rural area...so social distancing is not a problem. What /is/ a problem is pretty much everything else. We still don't have a washer or dryer and getting anything delivered these days can be nuts.
Because I'm an author and I don't need a commute anymore, Melli and I were able to find a perfect home for us after 2 years of looking. Of course, we're completely tapped out financially now and I need to become the writiest-writing-monkey ever, but it still feels odd to feel so good about the move when the entire world is falling apart and we're both so worried about her family. So let me know what you all think. Should I post pics about building a new archery range for book research...or stfu?
However, what is most important is everyone's health, and I'm aware that some of my readers are truck drivers, health professionals, older folks, and people with health complications.
Please take all the precautions necessary to protect yourselves.
Also, as my patreon patrons, you all are seriously some of the most important people to my process. If life hits you hard in these wacky times, please pm me and maybe we can work something out. For instance, for someone who has been a patreon patron for a while, if you lose your job, I totally understand if you need to stop being a patron, but I would like to still send you ebooks as they come out.
A line from Lilo and Stitch has stuck with me for a long time, and I'm going to butcher and modify it. My little family of people in my tribe has always been weird and broken, but still good. Family is as much the people you choose to let into your life as blood ties, sometimes more so.
In many of the ways that matter, you all are part of my writing family, so if you come upon hard times and need help, or even just need to talk, please don't stay silent. Also, we have a pretty good Discord that you can join, and some really nice people chat there on the regular.
TL:DR--these are wacky times. Don't be afraid to reach out.
...and let me know if you guys care about my personal life or not.
Even with my life in flux right now, I plan to keep working, I just need some pretty basic stuff to do so right now...like a chair--most of my worldly possessions are on the back of a truck, probably 500 miles away. The truck has all my awesome chairs, but I need something better than this camp chair I am sitting in right now.
So I need to go to Walmart today for a bunch of stuff, some of which so I can work until my actual office furniture arrives. Should be interesting.

I would like to see the archery set up just cause that sounds badass. Beyond that its your life, and share as you feel, but don't feel obligated to do so. At least in my opinion.

2020-03-25 16:45:03 +0000 UTCPersonally I love seeing how people set up their spaces, I'm not sure if it's because I like getting new ideas or my classes for interior design influence me. Hopefully you're able to get out and enjoy nature more and get ALL the inspiration!

2020-03-25 15:42:23 +0000 UTCIf you do that then the character can only be as good at archery as you are. I kid. Well, I mean shooting a bow isn't that hard... From 15 paces. I guess most of my problems came when shooting from 30 to 45 or when you needed to aim a little bit further up than the target. I guess archery is hard now that I think about it.

2020-03-25 13:03:14 +0000 UTCI agree with Daylan. I would be interested but I don't want you to feel obligated. If you don't want to than don't. I will still be a Patreon patron either way.

2020-03-25 12:50:54 +0000 UTCWhile we all are interested I dont know how much of your live you might want to put on the internet. Remember to think once before you act, twice before you speak, and three times before you post cause that shit is forever! But good luck with the new place!
