That Thing I Promised

So, like it says up there in the title and the image, here's my first attempt at doing one of those content voting polls. I'm not sure whether this is the smartest way to go about it, but I'll give this a go, see how it works and how you guys feel about it, and then tweak the process as we go.

I'm thinking I'll list each of the comic projects up for voting here, with a short summary of what they're going to be about, the characters involved, and a guestimate as to how many pages it's going to be so you guys know what you're potentially getting into by voting for it - mind you, the monthly vote is meant to change the balance in favor of what the majority of you want, but scope might be a factor for some of you to consider.

Some of these projects have been seen before, or I've shown glimpses of them at one point or other, others are completely new (at least to the public eye). Hell, at least two of these are almost a decade old at this point and it shows in what material is there. God awful facial proportions from ten years ago feel like a different world now XD

I also didn't include every project - Forest Tails for example will remain it's own thing for the forseeable future, as it has it's own patreon, however I AM making a concerted effort to put dedicated time aside to work on it again. There is another story I'm not offering for voting , featuring Megaera, mainly because I will be working on that in my off-time no matter what, so you will be cursed with that particular release, whether you want to be or not :b Lastly there's the almost exclusively story focused ARC universe with the si'itians and what stories I came up with there, but I want to have a little more structure prepared before I offer that up for voting.

All but one of these are definitely adult stories. The one exception will likely feature adult material here and there, but unlike the others it's not a vessel for the naughties, if you will.

I'll be making a general update post on the state of things later also, but I wanna get this out the gate to see how it functions, so enough rambling. Let's get into things ~ ...

A Rogue And A Thief is a "short" story inspired by a song from Dragon Age Inquisition "Sera Was Never". The titular Sera happens upon a town in the countryside of a largely unspecified land and sets about finding herself some way to enrich herself. If she can take a stab at the established order, so much the better. It just so happens the local lord's son William is celebrating his friend's birthday at the tavern and young men are an easy mark for a woman who knows which buttons to press in what order.

You'll remember these characters from a post from May last year. I've been sitting on it on-again-off-again at times where I had a moment to spare and felt like doodling expressions and gestures in a context. Originally this comic was meant to remain sketchy and wordless to allow the imagery to speak for itself and have people come up with their own specificities, but I'm willing to push this all the way into rendered finishing if the interest is there. Whether it gets dialogue I might put up toa secondary vote if and when we get around to it X3

Page count is a bit difficult on this one due to the weird format. It currently has 11 pages, which stack down to 22 if adapted to a more normal (if still not actually print normal or anything) and would in all likelyhood extend to something like 40 pages.

New Clear Dawn follows a lonely, unnamed fennec in a post-apocalypse setting scavenging an urban environment when he happens upon a marten. Originally distrustful of eachother and lacking a common language to speak, a truce is bargained and eventually the need for companionship wins out over concerns of hostility, but previous trauma and anxiety are difficult to overcome, and it takes some skillful navigation of boundaries before the two of them can actually enjoy eachother.

Originally started at Eurofurence 2015 this was a fun concept to explore at the time, but became a victim of my artistic identity crisis the following year and it's been collecting dust in the back of the archives since. This project will remain without any truly discernible dialogue throughout, but in regards to a comic working only with it's visual elements, it is the spiritual predecessor of ARAAT and Diplomatic Incident. I do have a lot of fennec characters these days, don't I ...

Estimated to be about 30 pages.

This one happens at an intergalactic summit of a largely irrelevant nature (as summits tend to be 9w9) hosted on a si'itian world as a neutral party. Antar and his crew find themselves stationed as part of site security, while FluffKevlar's Ayn and some guest characters navigate the boredom that is podium discussions and diplomatic dinners. Having run into eachother on a prior incident, Antar and Ayn have found eachother on good terms and have developed a friendship over the course of the event. Said friendship ends up being physical on the eve before departure.

Next to Resurgence 2 probably the oldest comic idea in this poll, having been started back in 2014 as a way to vomit out that particular character crush. Aside from the porn, the story has a bit of that convention feel going on, meeting new and old friends, trying to catch just a little bit more of those good feels with them and the bittersweetness of it all being over, promises of meeting again, etc. It also offers at least a cursory glimpse at more of the si'itian characters and the world they exist in, even if partially adapted to support the lemon that it is X3

Estimated at ~30 pages also, it might extend to 40 pages if I rewrite/extend some things, which I likely would to alleviate some of my writing pitfalls from back in the day.

Another one featuring Antar and this time Spot Tea's Sencha, you'll all remember this one. Late last year I'd shared the sketchy version of this comic and I'm working on prettifying it to a sketchy greyscale shade (as shown in that same post) in off time.

Primarily an exploration of a little extreme size play, this one features less world building or behind-the-scenes than Royal Escort does, as it's not set in my continuity, but is rather an excursion in to Tea's sci-fi universe that we've been exchanging notes about. Another one of the wordless comics and technically finished in concept, I figured I'd offer it up for voting anyway, in case there was an interest for it.

Originally 12 pages, just like ARAAT, if cut to publishing size it'd be somewhere around 24 pages, depending on which frame goes where.

Resurgence 2 is exactly what it says on the can, a sequel to the first Resurgence title. Featuring some of Skimike's cast in Ishara and Alecrast, we follow Shane's journey throughout the world on a quest to find the latter of the two, learning a thing or two about the state of the world, as well as seeing him engage physically with a diverse cast of girls (and briefly some boys, believe it or not :b

The one I'm fairly sure you've all been waiting for. Started almost a decade ago, Resurgence 2 was another victim of my artist crisis. This one features less direct dialogue and is more of a recounting by Shane via a diary he writes, with some direct interaction at the end. Doesn't mean it's any less "active" than Resurgence. He describes his exploits in great detail, I assure you ;3

I got all the way through the sketching phase before I hit that brick wall, so I have a confirmed 30 pages for this one. However, it doesn't conclude the Resurgence storyline, so this will potentially expand beyond in the future, if the interest is there.

And lastly, the one that wouldn't be as focused on adult stuff, but also the one that is least certain in it's fate, as it's based on another IP. I obviously can't say here which one specifically, but you should all be fairly familiar with it by aesthetics. Boardgame features a multitude of characters, all of whom come to different fates as the story unfolds, but they eventually culminate together to form a narrative. The hero's journey, a fall to corruption, ambition and a redemption arc is all part of the mix here.

I'd shown both of these partials in the past in public, but I never continued on either one of the story strands for lack of time. As I stated when I uploaded these back then, I'd stay in the stark black/white Mignola style throughout, both for ease and aesthetics, with maybe the occasional color panel thrown in for special effect.

If this is of interest, this would be pretty big in scope. I'm guessing at ~300 pages, if I actually got to do everything I wanted, but I'd likely release them in 30-40 page instalments. Whether we'd actually get to go through with all that depends on the IP gods if this gets voted for X3

Right, so that concludes the summaries. You each get one vote for now. I'm looking into structures where higher Tiers may get an additional vote, but we'll see how this works for now.

The poll will run for a week (until Monday, 28th of August, 19:00 CEST) to give everyone enough time to log on and cast a vote. I'm thinking I'll likely hold these votes in the last week of the month in the future (much like this one) to give me time to prepare to work on whatever gets voted for.

General content polls will also come soon, though I'm still working out some of the finer details.

Happy voting everyone! <3

Trust me, I was very close to voting for the boardgame story.

Both of you seem to like the idea of the boardgame story, but given the rest of the choices, I didn't expect any votes for it. The interest is definitely there though and that's good to know. Royal Escort was the winner for the longest time. Let's see how the second vote turns out. You might well get that look into the sci-fi world you want =^w^=

Well, I figure this is as good an opportunity as any to get things going on that end. Provides incentive and removes guilt on my part :b I'll be honest, I was a little surprised at the results, but by no means negatively so X3 As for the boardgame; it got no votes, as expected, but I knew there were at least a few people out there who had an interest. Maybe when I start advertising the patreon a bit more openly. We'll see.

Oh man, this is a tough one. So many of these look good. I'd LOVE to see the... um... unspecified boardgame one continue. And a sequel to Resurgence would be fantastic as well. But I gotta go with Royal Escort. I wanna see more of the big sci-fi kitties and their world :)

Tygon Panthera

Some of these i recognize and have been dying to see em finished. I always enjoy comics from you, be it new or old. Am curious to see how this turns out. I think the boardgame idea was a good addition
