I feel like these would probably function better if presented within this text, but since that failed so horribly last time, I'm sticking to the scroll-through format for now - however, if I'm a good boy and actually manage to upload stuff whenever I actually produce it, this might actually become a moot point in the future anyway X3

ANYWAY ...

First up something that came to me entirely out of the blue and wasn't even meant to be an action piece at the time, but it just happened that way - a si'itian. I know, right? I haven't drawn these guys in ages, but here they still are Xb~
I was watching Gods of Egypt, or rather, I had it on in the background, and this was inspired by the vaguely sci-fi imagery of the "God" characters and the other things that were going on in that ... interesting movie. Honestly, if you just want to kill some braincells, you can do a whole lot worse than Gods of Egypt, but it's definitely not high brow cinema by any stretch. I do feel the god characters have a certain Primarch-y vibe to them though, which I enjoy, and some of the in character jokes are actually genuinely funny. Shame they're so few and far between =w=

Next up, I'd been rooting around in my old minis boxes and stumbled across my two Eclipsantes of the Devourers of Vile-Tis from the old Confrontation tabletop system by Rackham. When I'm done with my current build projects, I'll likely strip the actual minis of paint and give them a new coat with my current skill level, but this was just inspired by my having found them. Back in the day I just liked the models, but recently I find myself reflected in the faction's lore, for better or for worse :b (in a very abstract way, but then sympathy doesn't require 1:1 opinional similarity).

Anyway, both of these sketches were inspired by the models, but only the first one ended up getting a render treatment. I was trying to emulate the display style of the original artwork from the Confrontation rule books and other media at least peripherally. My style is a little too straight/hard edged to truly do that stuff justice, but I'm still liking what I ended up putting together. Maybe I'll revisit the Devourers from time to time, or potentially even other factions of the Confrontation universe if there's interest. Incidentally while I was working on this, I was watching another rather trashy movie, with Jackie Chan and John Cena of all people XD

That concludes today's upload cycle. As I'd mentioned in today's posts, I'm still in the process of working out all these changes and I want to take into account plenty of the advice I've been offered by both you guys and other off-site people, so bear with me please <3

More posts and announcements due when they become available.

Until then, LYA~

Hmmm... Looking back, yeah, I can see it. Quite subtle, for the most part. I like it :) And I'd like to see some more Confrontation stuff.

Well, so long as I hit the aesthetic well enough to evoke the core material, that's good enough for me. The lore is ... not as extensive as you'd think or hope, but there is enough there to paint your own picture, with or without models X3 I can very likely explore the Confrontation aesthetic and universe a little more in future posts. As for the si'itians; they were always meant to have the egyptian look, I just tried to stay away from the cliché necklace and cloth crown, since it's been mostly regular people or practical soldier types so far.

You mean the Eclipsante maintaining her sword? Sure, I can probably put a little more work into that. Might make it a voting option later in the month too :3

Hehe, I was thinking "Hey, that looks like Confrontation" :) Would be neat to see more of that. I don't actually know the lore of the game or any of its factions, so that might be something interesting to look into. Oh, and the si'itian look pretty good too. The Egypt-inspired look works real well.

I would absolutely love to see that 2nd one finished up or even just sketched up some more. It's very eye catching and they're awesomely designed.
