I'm really happy with her design! ^^
I felt like a mix of pure and sexy would be a good choice for her, and she turned out great! Between the pose, her face, the branches like multi-arms, the colors, the little flowers on her arms and roots, the clothes, the blueberries (which were Bee's idea, they were just nondescript berries initally)... I'm just very pleased with the result!
Bee absolutely nailed the mom bod aspect (and everything really), he was amazing to work with as always! I hope you'll like her as much as we enjoyed working on her ^^

I have a bunch of stuff to talk about this time, but let's start with a changelist!
Added a new pod crash room in Rietti plains
The party is now repositioned after a going up/down transition depending on the placement of the relevant stairs/ladder/ramp etc
Unsellable items can't be dropped
NPCs don't face the party when talked to > fixed
Objects behind the UI in exploration mode aren't selectable anymore! This might not mean much to you and I used some tricks to achieve this same effect in some important spots, but this is something that's been on the back of my mind for a long time now and it's now a lot more reliable. Good stuff!
Item bouncers have been improved (invisible hitboxes that push items away in some cases)
Inventory's drop item's circular screenshot was off center > fixed
Some foreground objects now turn transparent if a coin/item is behind
Chibi shadow size can now vary depending on the character
Directional keys now work for the Rietti ruins puzzles (kururin)
Directional keys now work for Star shooters (up and down keys only)
Directional keys now work for the Night dome gears (up and down keys only)
Improved / updated added some rooms in Sablee (almost unnoticeable), Sablee ocean (minor stuff), Deep Ocean (all rooms), Biscotti (all houses are now unique), Rietti plains (one new treetops type room), Rietti forest (reworked room variety by adding one new room in both the forest part and the ruin part, kururin puzzle solved effect is now more noticeable), Biscotti tunnels (some new puzzles), Night Dome (vastly improved, more room variety, new puzzles, exactly 1000 stars, removed the extra lock)
Improved party placement in all rooms that required it (as far as I can tell) so party characters aren't standing in walls and such anymore
Improved item walls and item bouncers in all rooms that required it (as far as I can tell) so items can't be thrown through wall or get stuck behind decoration
If you remember the last devlog, my goal this time was to add a lot of exploration related improvements.
I mentioned the room compendium last time, which is a big document containing every room of each floor of each area, accompanied by a screenshot and notes of anything relevant to the player (Multistates such as chests or puzzles, NPCs, cutscenes, treasure etc), as well as maps with graphical representations of these points of interest and of the room variety. I had an unfinished form of this before the first build of the new demo but sadly lost that data, and now was the time to redo it all cleanly. This was a lot of work, even more than I thought, and ended up taking almost half the month. It was well worth the trouble for a crucial tool in getting all exploration related changes planned and implemented!
With that done, I was able to get started on the exploration changes. It's always a bit sad when a big chunk of work can be summed up in only a few words in the changelist, which is exactly what happened here. Various objects were reworked, many rooms were cleaned up (including some changes that no one will ever notice, but that's ok), some new rooms were introduced in the forest for better variety, which also meant moving a bunch of the already established rooms, and the Night dome received a pretty massive upgrade. More areas got updated to various extents as well! New puzzles were introduced in some areas too, and more improvements were taken care of like party placement in some rooms, or making sure items can't get stuck behind decoration now that the player has a reason to drop an item in potentially any room since the introduction of consummable items.
Additionally, various other bugfixes were taken care of throughout that whole process.
The bad news is that my eyes might have been bigger than my stomach. I was hoping to take care of every single missing exploration related feature, but I didn't have time to update chest content, to add the harvestables (despite actually creating new objects that are fully functional, so I just need to place them now), to add the hint system and the party event system, nor to replace some of the info signs with Alma's pages. Most item descriptions got shafted once again as well. This is why it's generally a good idea to multiply your expected timeframe by at least 1.5, I really thought I'd be able to get everything done in a month... I guess it's just how things go sometimes, I still took care of a lot of very important work so I'm happy with that! Gotta focus on the positives ^^
And well, I know what to do next.
Either way, this new build is a big one! Especially considering it also contains the changes mentioned in the last devlog ( https://www.patreon.com/posts/107243952 ). I received a lot of playtesting help (thank you!) and was able to fix a lot of issues in time, so this should be a relatively bug free build.
The good news is that I'm getting really close to being done implementing everything I wanted! Work on the new SFX has started and the time to update/add new chibis is getting closer. I'm not gonna get too ahead of myself though, first is all the remaining exploration stuff!
