Cowgirl reveal + Devlog #082 + Monstergirl poll #21 is on!

And there she is!

Unlike the Mimic, I'd say she's a lot closer to what most would expect of a Cowgirl. Still I hope you'll like her! I'm especially happy with how her suit turned out.
She's going to have a bunch of special quests in game, but she'll also sell some items.
I actually made some kind of mistake while drawing her, and her sprite ended up bigger than planned (as in, higher definition). That's fine though, I'll just resize her a bit in game. She has some pretty cute expressions, so I decided to share an extra one this time ^^

As for the progress I made on the game, I'm still working on the chibis! It's going well and I'm very happy with the results so far, but it is taking longer than I expected, as is the case with just about everything. I was hoping to finish sometime in December, but sometime in January seems a lot more likely. That being said, I've only been taking care of immportant story characters that require a lot of chibis so far, so there's a chance my estimations are a bit off, we'll see. I did optimize my chibi drawing process though and I figured out that if things were to take too long despite all that, I could still take a few shortcuts that wouldn't really impact the final result. For example, every character needs several sprites (idle, happy, sad, KO etc), but in the case of non story relevant playable characters, one thing I could do to gain a lot of time would be to have the happy and sad sprites be the same as the idle one, only with a different expression. It's not ideal, but it is an option.
So yeah, at least one more month in chibi hell, and then I'll figure out a way to finish this in January. I'm actually considering getting help when it comes to chibis and/or environments now, on top of characters, after the next demo comes out. I do enjoy drawing, but I can't help but feel bad when I reflect about how much time it takes to get everything done... But that's for later, nothing to do but keep at it for now!

Also, now that all 3 NPCs have been revealed, I'll be posting a few of the new chibis every month alongside the devlog! I'm only going to show revealed characters however. Maybe I'll begin with the 3 new NPCs... I don't know yet ^^
