While the security team are pretty minor characters in the grand scheme of things, I find it really fun to give even characters like that little moments to shine. To me, it helps to make the rest of the world feel more alive.
And that's an important thing for the comic! The security team could be considered "antagonists," technically, since they're being dispatched to capture Simon. But they're good people who recognize that there's a lot at stake if they fail.
Maybe it's just the way I am, but I just don't tend to write true villains. Even the sisters, they have their moments, but like most everyone else, their goal is just making sure the world has a future.
Makes things pretty complicated, all things considered...
