This area was PARTICULARLY fun to design for me, especially when it came to color. I deliberately mixed the teal hues Leon spent a lot of the chapter in, as well as the orange ones Simon experienced.
I'm also SUCH a sucker for a waterfall. We don't get the best views of it, but this area is one of the main parts of the facility handling water treatment.

Everything's coming to head against Ms Shepard here. Luca deliberately pushes her away, and the manipulation our nervous little Tecktrin did has thrown the security team off-course. While Trinity supposedly offers to help Ms Shepard, she instead starts secretly messaging Luca. Then the twins lose sight of Simon, Leon, and Luca. It's a BAD day for Ms Shepard, and not one I imagine she's going to forget...

So funny story.
While I was drafting up this chapter, there was a certain scene I had in mind that was pretty much GUARANTEED to be happening during this part.
The idea was that Leon would grab out the Quizard pin as seen, but when he tries to get rid of it, just ends up stomping on it and poking himself with the needle of it. In reality, it would have only extended this part by maybe an extra page, but it was ultimately cut because by this point, Ms Shepard's patience has COMPLET...

This scene was probably my favorite to write for the entirety of Chapter 3, ESPECIALLY pages 301 and 302. I finally got to write someone who was an intellectual match for Leon, and seeing him sweat about it was such a treat.
In hindsight, I kind of feel like I could have probably cut down the page count, just for this chapter in general. Does it all add to the tension, or make it a bit repetitive? I'll have to let the audience decide.

This is a sequence I've been waiting for for a WHILE.
Leon's had it easy grappling against Trinity and Luca - both of which have a lot of respect for him... but Ms Shepard doesn't mess around.
We'll see more of it as this segment goes on, but Ms Shepard's pretty good at matching Leon beat-for-beat, and it made writing this part have a tenseness that we haven't gotten to experience in the story yet!

This was another favorite scene of mine, something that was technically on my mind LONG, /LONG/ before KttFF ever started.
This sequence, particularly 293, mirrors a comic page from the predecessor story to KttFF, Cat Comixz. Funny enough, it was Cat Comixz page /93/ that the exchange happened on the other end!
